Peakingiswhentheverticalshellweldorweldjointisnotproperlyfittedanditmakesapeakatthejoint.Sometimesthisiscausedbecausetheshellplatewasn't
properlyrolled.Theradiusofthetankinthatareawillnotbecorrect.Itischeckedbycuttinga36incheslongboardtotheoutsideradiusofthetank,holdingtheboard
againsttheweld,andmeasuringthedistancebetweentheboardandthetankshell.Iftheweldorjointholdstheboardmorethan1/2inchfromtheshell,thenthejoint
hastoomuchpeaking.
