Employment, on Contract, of Staff in the Environmental, Health and Safety

Unit of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure

Note WI(15)42 was considered.

Cabinet agreed:

(a) that the revised organizational structure of the Environmental, Health

and Safety Unit of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure be as set out in
Appendix XI to the Note;

(b) to the employment, on contract, of the under-mentioned staff in the

Environmental, Health and Safety Unit of the Ministry of Works and
Infrastructure for a further period of three (3) years with effect from the
date(s) of assumption of duty, on terms and conditions to be negotiated with
the Chief Personnel Officer and approved by the Minister of Works and
Infrastructure:

One (1) Director, Environmental, Health and Safety

One (1) Physical Impact Specialist

Four (4) Environmental, Health and Safety Inspectors I

One (I) Accounts Officer;

(c) to the employment, on contract, of the under-mentioned staff in the said Unit
for a further period of three (3) years with effect from the date(s) of
assumption of duty, on the terms and conditions as determined by the Chief
Personnel Officer in accordance with Circular Memorandum PD(bm):12/2/1
(Temp.) dated January 18, 2013 :

One (1) Driver/Courier

One (1) Office Support Assistant (formerly designated Office Aide);

(Minutes No. 152(2nd Session) of December 20, 2007, No. 2281 of August 20, 2009
and No. 2494 of September 2012 refer):

(d) to grant covering approval for the employment, on contract, of one (1)
Driver/Courier, in the said Environmental, Health and Safety Unit, for a
further period of three (3) years with effect from September 4, 2013, on the
terms and conditions as determined by the Chief Personnel Officer in
accordance with Circular Memorandum PD(bm):1212/1 (Temp.) dated
January 18, 2013;

(e) to the re-designation of the contract position of Environmental, Health and

Safety Technical Assistant to Environmental, Health and Safety
Technical Officer in the said Unit (Appendix VII to the Note refers);

(f) to the employment, on contract, of an Environmental, Health and Safety

Technical Officer in the Health and Safety Unit of the Ministry of Works and
Infrastructure for a period of three (3) years with effect from the date of
assumption of duty, on terms and conditions to be negotiated with the Chief
Personnel Officer and approved by the Minister of Works and
Infrastructure;

(g) that salary and related costs in respect of the employment, on contract, of the
staff referred to at (b), (c), (d) and (f) above be met from the Contract
Employment vote of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure,
