Summary, Conclusion and Recommendations

Summary

In the whole duration of my on-the-job training in Philam Life, I have tried being a
temporary employee of the company. I was treated like one, and I have treated the company also
as an extension of my school. I was working and at the same time, I was learning. Filing, preparing
the check vouchers, and sorting was the primary things I have tried doing. My mentors are kind
and understanding, when I commit a mistake they know how to approach me thats why I love
being their trainee I dont just learned there but I also learned that someday I can apply those
things that they taught me.

There are also problems that I have encountered during my training period, but with the
help of my mentors I solved it right away. I learned from them that when I commit a mistake or had
an error on what Im doing I should tell or approach them so that I can correct whatever the
problems are. For five months of staying at Philam. Ive also realized my weaknesses during the
training course and have begun taking steps in dealing with them. It was a very fun and unique
experience, I enjoyed it very much and I also apply my learnings in the field of work.

Conclusion

On the job training is of theoretical significance because it represents a form of


education that stands in sharp contrast to schooling. Learning in school is divorced from practice.
On the job training is an important way in which students acquire relevant knowledge and skills
at work.

Experiencing work in the company can be very enjoyable and educational; I meet new
people and know new ways of living. It made me understand that everybody has a role to do, the
choice is whether we do it or not. Work is not easy, but if you loved and enjoy what you are doing it
is not hard.

Recommendations

After this on-the-job training, I hereby recommend the following:

1. To the cooperating agencies, they should give the student-trainee/s a chance to develop
their capabilities, skills and knowledge for them to be prepared in the future. They should
provide activities that have something to do with their field of specialization. They should
also help the students to enhance their confidence and personality through treating them
just like a real employee of the company. This will help the students to be more focused
and be more serious of the tasks assigned to them.

2. To the student-trainee/s, they should first find a company that has something to do with
their field of specialization. In the working environment, they should practice work ethics
and should learn to adapt to the culture of the company. Respect the other employees of
the company even they are not their training supervisor. They should indulge their selves
with activities especially those which they think will help them to enhance their skills.
Lastly, be cool enough to accept criticisms from others. This will also help them to be more
of what he/she or others expect from him/ her or themselves. Most of all have fun because
this will help them to be more determined to do the tasks assigned to them. Be motivated
and be prepared for future activities.
