assignment were ones I gained through
having already run my own business for a few
years. I have grown my business from a one
man operation to have 3 full time employees
now. I used a lot of those skills to complete
this assignment. I was able to use my
knowledge and skills about leadership,
personal organization, employee morale, and
communication to complete this assignment.
The biggest pattern or connect in this regard
to my own preferred approach to learning was

connections with something that I still

when employees are not working as hard as I
expect them to. I seem to struggle with
patience at home sometimes also when things

think they should be done. These two things
have a lot to do with the project scope and

Assignment #1: Questions for Reflection (Be sure to include Table 1 and Table 2 in addition to your
responses to these two prompts in your assignment submission.)
Prompt #1: Now that you have completed Assignment #1, what were the most important aspects of this
assignment? What moved you the most? Any surprises?
The most important aspect of this assignment was the chance to bring to memory the more important things I
have learned over the last three years. I had the chance to deeply review almost every class and get to go through
almost every week of every class that I have taken. It made me think again about how important certain things were
that I have forgotten. Also by getting a chance to review almost all the things I have learned before but have since
forgotten will give me another chance to remember those things and still apply them if I have not. I cant honestly say
that anything moved me a whole lot or that there were any surprises. I say this because I did remember a lot of things
that I was reviewing and have done a great job applying those things to my life and my business.
Prompt #2: What are your ideas in terms of how to best illustrate your growth and development over the course of
your education and experiences with the Organizational Leadership program? What are your best ideas with respect
to specific artifacts / evidence that you might present (within the context of an e-portfolio) as your consider your
growth and development in the Organizational Leadership Program?
I have definitely matured as a leader over the course of my education in the Organizational Leadership program.
I am sure if I could rewind time and look at how I lead my company three years ago before starting this program and
compare that person to me now there would be a huge difference. I think I have also become a little more humble from
the things I have learned and the skills I have acquired from taking all of these courses. They have taught me to think
things through a little more and not just jump in as fast as I use to before. I think one of the best ideas I could present
might some of the self-assessments that I did in in COM 430. These helped me step back from myself and really
evaluate who I am and how I do as a leader. Those artifacts are ones that I can also continue to look back on and use
for myself and for my employees to help better myself as a leader and them as well.
