Ascot Summer School, Berkshire

Homestay accommodation
The minimum age for unaccompanied children in
homestay is 11 years old. All our homestay hosts
are selected by partner accommodation agencies
specialised in providing accommodation suitable for
children and families. Hosts are British citizens who
speak English in the home but are sometimes born
abroad. They are chosen only after a strict application
process, inspection and safety checks. Travel times in
Exeter are around 30 minutes maximum and around
60 minutes in London.
Junior homestay accommodation includes breakfast
and evening meal every day and lunch or packed lunch
at weekends.
Residential accommodation
All students are accommodated in school residences
on campus. Boys and girls are in separate residences
or on separate floors. At Alexanders College, students
are in rooms with 2, 3 or 4 beds. At Ascot Summer
School the rooms contain 2-6 beds and at Newland
College there are 1 or 2 beds per room. In Exeter we
have single ensuite rooms. Unless requested otherwise
by all parents involved, children sharing together will
be of different mother tongues where possible. Most
bedrooms contain washbasins, but bathroom and toilet
facilities are shared. All accommodation provides 3
meals per day.
In the home county of Berkshire, less than 1 hour from central
London, Ascot is a small, affluent town near Windsor. It is famous
for its horse racecourse, home to 'Royal Ascot', and its high number
of famous private schools. SKOLA Ascot is a residential summer
school that offers a full range of English courses with a wide variety
of options such as sports like horseriding and golf; art and drama.

Newland College, The Chilterns, Buckinghamshire
In the home county of Buckinghamshire, Newland College is 50
minutes from central London, which you can reach on the tube
or train. Set in 100 acres of rolling parkland, Newland College is
in the Chiltern Hills, which is the first true countryside you reach
when you leave London. Newland College is a residential summer
school that offers a full range of English courses with sports, art
and drama options. See page 24.
