A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, WELCOMING PEOPLE TO THE CITY OF MOSCOW: AND PROVIDING THAT THIS RESOLUTION SHALL BE IN EFFECT UPON ITS PASSAGE, AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the City of Moscow is a diverse community composed of people from all over the world and. welcomes all people seeking the opportunity for a better life: and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow is home to the University of Idaho and enthusiastically embraces students from all over the world; and WHEREAS, new residents are a vital part of our community - bringing fresh perspectives, new ideas, and contributing to the vibrant diversity that we as a community value; and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow has, through past statements and actions, affirmed our commitment to be a friendly community, acknowledging that discrimination impedes the social and economic progress of a city by preventing all from fully contributing to the cultural, spiritual, social, and commercial life of the community. and WHEREAS, the contributions of all individuals in the City of Moscow are essential to the City's social and economic growth, vitality. and prosperity. and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow is committed to nurturing its diverse, vibrant, and livable community. for all residents, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow. as follows: ‘That the City of Moscow is committed to being a ftiendly and diverse city where all residents and visitors feel welcomed, safe, and able to fully participate in, and contribute to, our city's ‘economic and social life, and we urge all residents of Moscow to do their past in reaching out and welcoming all those who live in and visit our community.
