INTRODUCTION
Study Habit is defined as those technique such as summerizing, note taking
locating material which learners employ to assist themselves in the efficient learning of
the material at hand. According Godds Dictionary of Education Study habit is the
tendency of pupil to study when the opportunities are given, the pupils way of studying
whether systematic or on systematic, efficient or in efficient.

COLLECTION OF DATA

The study was conducted on a sample of 20 students in the same class I. was
conducted. This study on eight standard students. This study was based on study habits
at classroom. The instrument was administered on each of the supervision of their
teachers.

METHODOLOGY

In this rating scale, which deals with study habit at home five responses are
provided for each statements. They are always [A], often [O], sometimes[S], Rarely
[R] and never [N]

Scoring was based on the scoring mannual provided by the author there are both
positive and negative statements. The rating scale is different for positive statements
and negative statements. The negative statements are 3,5,8,9,11,14,15.

If the total score above to the pupil have above study habit at home,
50-70 normal study habit and below fifty below study habit.

the students.

CONCLUSION

There is a higher co-relation between students habit and students academic


performance. Lack of proper study habit at home is one of the root course of our
educational standard. There is significant difference in the study habit of secondary
school students whether male of female.

SUGGESTIONS

Parents should always check their works at homes to ensure that they study more

often than not.


Also provide study materials such as Text book, Notes etc.

Teacher should motivate students own their study.
Appropriate learning situations should be provided both at classroom and at home.

RATING SCALE

The following are some statements related to your ways of learning. They are
arranged under three parts Form A, Form B and Form C. Form A deals with study habits
at home. Form B with study habits in class room and From C with study distraction.
Five responses are provided for each statement. They are Always (A) Often O,
Sometimes (S), Rarely (R) and Never (N). What you have to do is to read each
statement carefully and write your answer from A, O,S, R, N against the number of the
statement with reference to your studies in the response sheet provided.

25 statements are included in this section. Read each statement carefully and
mark the answer applicable to you. The symbols stands for the following A = Always, O
= Often, S = Sometimes, R = Rarely and N = Never. Use response sheet to mark you
