engineer can use this to interrogate the controllers. List two other methods an
engineer can use to access a controller, state at least one benefit and one
drawback of each method:
i) Crossover cable or connector. Advantage: Simple and you are near the
device. Disadvantage: You can only talk to the directly connected device
and you have broken the network.
ii) Connect using a portable hub or an extra hub mounted in the panel.
Advantage: You are near the device and you are part of the network.
Disadvantage: More hardware to carry and the portable hub might
increase the network hub count, an extra local hub increases costs.

Ethernet Connection:
The new method of connection to the Trend LAN is
configured using a virtual CNC. Either a 3xtend, EINC or

Exercise - Answer
The problem is there is no internetwork between the IQ3 Ethernet lan (lan 4) and the
20mA lan (lan 5), so this is really two separate Trend sites. One of the Ethernet IQ3s will
enable its INC, but as there is no INC on the 20mA lan, there is no internetwork link.
This means the 963 cannot map the system as a single site. 963 can connect to a virtual
CNC in an IQ3 on lan 4, but then lan 5 can only be accessed as a remote site. The same
problem exists for the other lan if the VCNC in the IQ3/LAN is used for the connection.
The solution is to fit a 3xtend between the 20mA lan and Ethernet. The 963 will now be
able to map the whole site from either VCNC.

Note 1 - Type of module selected has an impact on size, the largest size has been used for this table.
Note 2 - The Time Zone module size accounts for 20 exceptions, any more added will have to be
allocated from the remaining briIQs. Exceptions are created in the web browser or 963 and these will
be configured by the user, ensure sufficient briIQs are left.
Note 3 - SET allows the you to create 500 plot modules, however you can only display graphs on
supervisors for sensors 1 to 99, plots modules for sensors higher than 99 can only be shown on the
web pages.
The IQ3 has a one second cycle time and can have up to

shown on the next page.
6. With sensors, digital inputs and drivers the I/O module and I/O channel must
be configured. The I/O module refers to the physical address of the I/O module
as set on its rotary switch, the base controller is always 0. I/O channel refers to
the terminal number on the module. Therefore as software I/O points have a
module and channel reference, this is consistent with any drawing references:
Don't forget to plug a sensor from your box into the appropriate IQ3 input.
7. What number range can be used for the knob Top and Bottom limits?

Exercise - Alarm Handling Duration = 20 minutes
This exercise will guide you through setting up alarm group, route and destination
modules. We will use the alarm applet within SET to receive the alarms.
1. Add a new page to your controller. Now add the strategy modules shown
below. To find the group, route and destination modules, right click on a blank
part of the strategy and select the 'Alarms' menu option:
2. Now the alarm modules are in place, we need to check which alarms have been
assigned to which group and ensure they are enabled. This should be easy because
if groups have been created, all module alarms in an IQ3 default to group 1.
3. Right click on a blank part of the strategy drawing and select 'Alarms' and
'Alarm Grouping' menu option. Use this window to move alarms between groups,
set up the default group as shown below:
Continued...
Section 8 - Page 8 of 14 2008 Trend Control Systems Limited, Horsham, West Sussex, U.K. IQ3 Course Iss 4.10
4. Ensure the alarms are enabled in the default group, to perform this right click the
alarm and select enable.
6. From the Tools menu select the 'Monitor Incoming Alarms' option. This will
display the ToolSET alarm monitoring applet:
This window allows you to send alarms to SET, SET will then acknowledge the
alarm in the controller. The window will store alarms received during this session.
The 'Options' button allows you to customise which columns are displayed: The
'Export...' button allows you to transfer the data to the clipboard or a text file:
The 'Clear List' clears the view which is currently shown on screen.

7. Test the alarm delivery mechanism from your IQ3. You must ensure the
alarm applet window is open to receive the alarms. Click the middle tab to
see all the alarms. Follow these fault finding tips if the alarms do not appear:
i) In the SET strategy open the Alarm grouping window and check, the alarm
you are testing is in group 1 and it is enabled.
ii) In the SET strategy edit the parameters for the group and destination
modules and ensure the group priority level is equal too or greater than the
destinations priority hold level.
iii) In the SET strategy check the route module has been enabled. In our
strategy this is a simple case of turning switch 3 ON.
iv) In the SET strategy check the destination module alarm address and LAN
number. Does this correlate to your VCNC in your controller?
v) If you have made any changes to your strategy ensure you download the file
again.
vi) Ensure the alarm applet window is open to receive the alarms, it must be
left running.
8. This exercise has taken you through the alarm set up step by step. A simple
summary check list is shown below:
Summary:
i) Configure Groups Routes and Destination modules in the controller.
ii) Set the alarm address in the destination module to be your VCNC or where
you wish the alarms to be delivered, for example a 963 supervisor.
iii) Test the desired alarms are delivered.
In addition to the normal Trend alarms the following general alarms are supported:
Sequence Table Overrun (STOR): The controller is unable to complete all the modules in the
sequence table in the required time. Change some of the modules to event driven.
Low RAM (LMWG): If the controller runs low on RAM it will send this alarm and reboot.
Contact Technical Support.
I/O Bus Failure (FCAN): Communications failure on the I/O bus (e.g. short circuit). Check
wiring.
Low Flash (LFWG): The amount of memory used by graphics files (backdrops) is excessive.
Reduce the size or number of files.
Archive Failure (FARC): The archiving of the running strategy file into flash memory has
failed. Contact Technical Support.
Corrupt Time (FTIM): Similar to standard Fail RTC alarm.

Exercise - Viewing modules Duration = 10 minutes
1. Set up a desktop short-cut to your IQ3. The easiest way is to highlight your
controller in iP Tool, then click the 'Web page' button.
When the web page appears in Internet explorer, click File - Send - Shortcut to
desktop. This will place a shortcut to your IQ3 on the left of your desktop.
Close down Internet Explorer, minimise iP Tool and SET, then run the web page
up again by double clicking on the desktop shortcut.
2. Navigate around your strategy and try the following:
i) View all your sensor values.
ii) View a graph of sensor 1. To zoom in drag a box around the area of interest.
To zoom out right click the graph.
iii) See if you can trace the sensor loop driver strategy using the connection
buttons.
iv) View all your setpoints (knobs). Then adjust your occupied setpoint 2C
above its current value.
v) View the time module and check the details - this is important for
commissioning.
vi) View the alarm log, this area would be useful when fault finding alarm
delivery, if the alarm does not appear in this list it is not enabled or assigned to a
group. If the alarm gets into the alarm log but the last column states 'waiting not
sent' this is a problem with the destination.
3. All software modules can be disabled, I/O modules can be overridden.
Disabled modules do not function and just stop working. This is similar to
removing an IQ2 module from the sequence table, this feature is what SET live
edit 'Disable module' uses. The module override enable and module override
value can be adjusted with strategy modules to allow an end users to override I/

6. Click on Modules then Networks then N1 to display the Ethernet settings.
These are usually set up with iP Tool but can also be changed here.
The Default host name is always TREND_xx_xx_xx where xx_xx_xx are the
last six characters of the MAC address.
The default name is always used when the controller is reset. When a new host
name (e.g. Boiler_1) is set up the controller will still respond to the default name
unless it is Disabled in the web page above.
If the default name is left Enabled, the controller will respond to both host
names.
If you use the disable module (not override) feature in the web pages the module will not

Exercise - Graphics pages Duration = 25 minutes
This exercise will guide you through creating some sample GraphIQs pages for your
controller. The first two pages explain how to create pages, then we have some
sample pages for you to create. Please ensure you follow the instructions carefully as
the exercises are progressive.
In SET view one of your controller's strategy pages. From the 'Tools' menu select
'Display and Directory Setup', the following window will be displayed:
The centre window shows the
current display and directory
modules. Directory modules
represent a GraphIQs page, and
display modules are the controller
modules shown on the page, see
below for example.
The left hand window shows all the
modules in your controller which
can be displayed on a graphics
page.
The directory modules
are the GraphIQs
pages. These create the
navigator.
Once the display and directory structure has been engineered, each directory module
needs to be edited. This process sets the backdrop used, the size of the GraphIQs
page, the refresh rate of dynamic items and specifies where items appear on the
screen.
The IQ3 accepts only .JPG or GIF files for the backdrops. There is limited memory
available for storing the backdrops:
Total backdrop memory available = 2MB.
MAXIMUM file size per backdrop = 200kB, recommended is 100kB

In the middle window of the 'Display and Directory Setup' dialogue, right click on the
first directory module, this is referred to as the root, select 'Edit Parameters'. The
following points explain each parameter, read the information and then configure the
directory modules parameters as listed in step 3:
iv) Backdrop: A picture can be displayed instead of a colour. The project backdrop
pictures are stored in a folder called 'backdrops' in your current SET project, the
default location would be:
C:\Set Projects\<PROJECT NAME>\Backdrops
Some training examples have been placed in C:\Temp\Backdrops
To import backdrops click here and navigate to the required file on you PC.
Highlight the backdrop you require, preview it in the window, click 'OK' to configure
it. Note: File size and download times are also shown for reference.
v) Refresh Rate: The update interval in seconds for all dynamic display items shown
on this GraphIQs page.
vi) Width, height and page size: This should be set to the size of the backdrop picture.
Remember this is dependent on the screen resolution used to view the page, if the size
is too large the screen will display scroll bars.

7. We now need to download the GraphIQs pages to your controller. Use the
following instructions to help:
Before you start the download it is important to understand the transfer options:
i) IQ3 File - This should be checked every time a change has been made to any IQ
module and you wish to download this new data to the controller. This includes
display and directory modules.
ii) Backdrops - This should be checked every time a change has been made to any
backdrops or a different backdrop has been selected. If you have just moved or
added a dynamic item on a page you do not have to download the backdrops again.

Exercise - Remote device configuration
Duration = 10 minutes
Work with your neighbour sitting at one machine.
1. Disconnect your hub from the other desks so that the ip-Tools don't interfere.
2. Configure the 'Remote Trend Devices' settings in your Trend device with the
lowest IP address. As we are using DHCP you will have to use the host name of
a device on the other network. Ask someone on the other network for an
appropriate host name.
3. When you have written the data wait for all the groups to finish.
4. Reconnect all the Ethernet cables and fibre-optic links. In SET system view
delete the internetwork and local lan, then refresh the whole site.
5. You should now be able to browse the whole Trend site and see all eight IQ3
controllers, four IQ210s and four 3xtends.

Visitor Messages:
IQ3xcite controllers at present do not respond to visitor messages.
IQ3xcite firmware 1.2 will respond to IC Comms visitor messages.
Note:
the Text comms window has an 'Options' button, as
shown the protocol character can be selected. This
specifies the communications protocol that is used. It
should always be set to v Normal for Pre IQ3

Web Enabled Controller
Description Features
The IQ3 controllers are Building Management System controllers Ethernet 10 Mbps main network with TCP/IP protocol
that use Ethernet and TCP/IP networking technologies; they are embedded web server with security protected monitor/control
optionally able to use BACnet protocol over IP. Each controller BACnet over IP option
incorporates a web server which can deliver user-specific web compatible with existing IQ system protocol
pages to a PC or mobile device running internet browser software. IQ3xact with 12 I/O points and IQ3xcite with 0 or 16 I/O points
If a system is set up with the correct connections, a user with IQ3xcite with 80 or 112 additional points by DIN rail I/O modules
the appropriate security codes can monitor or adjust the controller I/O bus allows separate placement of I/O modules
from any Internet access point in the world. It is also compatible flexible number of software strategy modules
with the traditional IQ system protocol. The IQ3 range consists RS232 local supervisor port

virtual CNC embedded in the IQ3 controller. The strategy and all
other configuration files may be downloaded to the IQ3 from SET

I/O bus: The controller has the option of a highly reliable I/O bus.
This enables expansion I/O modules to be connected to add up to
112 additional I/O points (128 points in total with the 16 points in the
IQ3). The bus can be up to 10 m (11 yds) or 30 m (33 yds) in length
(see page 8 for details), and have a maximum of 15 I/O modules.
Networks: The IQ3 will create its own internal Lan which IC Comms: The IQ3s may communicate with each other and

COMPATIBILITY
Browsers: Internet Explorer v6, Mobile smart phones (Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition), and PDAs (Windows CE4);
note that Mobile smart phones and PDAs cannot display graphs and right to left languages
Note that IQ3 has not been tested with all devices and Trend cannot guarantee a particular devices
compatibility.
Note that the operating system environment in which Internet Explorer runs must support Java; Currently
Windows 98, 2000, and ME do support Java, but XP SP1 doesnt. For Windows XP, a Sun Java runtime
environment v1.4 or greater must be installed (this can be downloaded from Java.com).
Supervisors: 963v3 (for full compatibility), 915MDS >v3, 916, IQView
Utility software: SET v6.2 for full compatibility (includes IP Tool auxiliary software)
Displays: IQView touch screen network display, RD-IQ (see requirements p8), SDU-xcite 4 line display (the IQ3 label
lengths should be limited to 20 characters for SDU-xcite (< v1.01 firmware), SDU-xcite v1.01 will truncate the label
to the first 20 characters.)
Note that the NDP is not compatible with IQ3; it will not recognise an IQ3 connected to its network.
I/O Modules: XCITE/IO/8UI, 4UI, 4UI/4AO, 2UI/2AO, 8DO, 4DO, 8AO, 4AO, 16DI, 8DI, 8DI/8TI, 8DO/HOA, 4DO/HOA can connect
