demandfactoristhen15/20=0.75=75%.
DemandFactorisexpressasapercentage(%)orinaratio(lessthan1).
DemandFactorisalwayschangewiththetimetotimeorhourstohoursofuseanditwillnot
constant.
Theconnectedloadisalwaysknownsoitwillbeeasytocalculatethemaximumdemandifthe

Greaterthediversityfactor,lesseristhecostofgenerationofpower.
Manydesignersprefertouseunityasthediversityfactorincalculationsforplanningconservatism
becauseofplantloadgrowthuncertainties.Localexperiencecanjustifyusingadiversityfactor
largerthanunity,andsmallerserviceentranceconductorsandtransformerrequirementschosen
accordingly.
Thediversityfactorforallotherinstallationswillbedierent,andwouldbebaseduponalocal
evaluationoftheloadstobeappliedatdierentmomentsintime.Assumingittobe1.0may,on
someoccasions,resultinasupplyfeederandequipmentratingthatisratherlargerthanthelocal
installationwarrants,andanoverinvestmentincableandequipmenttohandletheratedload
current.Itisbettertoevaluatethepatternofusageoftheloadsandcalculateanacceptablediversity
factorforeachparticularcase.
