Dear Nursing Recruiter,

I am writing to express my interest in joining the Phoenix Childrens Hospital nursing team as a new RN
graduate in the acute care track. I recently graduated from The University of Arizona (U of A) in
December 2016 with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree.
My clinical experiences at The U of A were very diverse, and I was able to explore many different areas
of nursing including the ICU, Medical-Surgical, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Mental health. I am
confident that working with children is the path I should be on as I most enjoy working with children
and their families! My recent senior practicum in general pediatrics provided me with multiple
experiences in providing care to children with a variety of diseases and injuries. I was also able to
enhance my critical thinking and organizational skills that are necessary in providing safe and competent
care, and worked well with other members of the healthcare team. I learned the value of therapeutic
communication and interfacing with patient families and children who are scared and out of their normal
home environment. Through my practicum I was able to further develop my leadership skills and have
enhanced my confidence and abilities as a new graduate nurse.

As a nursing student at the U of A, I have developed a high standard for patient-centered care as well as
a solid work ethic. It is exciting and humbling for me to join forces with an organization such as yours
that shares the same values and goals that I do. Prior to beginning nursing school, I was able to gain
exposure to the incredible work and innovation that Phoenix Childrens Hospital performs by serving as
a summer volunteer. With the experiences I have gained throughout my life and as a student nurse, the
strengths I will offer your organization are my passion for people, adaptability to change, respect for
diversity, and my continued desire to learn.
I feel strongly that the skills that I have gained through a combination of life experiences and my nursing
education have prepared me to carry out Phoenix Childrens mission of hope, healing, and providing the
best care to children and their families. I am looking forward to the opportunity of interviewing with
your organization and can be reached at (480) 773-1733 or via my email address
