Course Offering for Grades 9-12

The year is moving quickly, and we are meeting with students

to discuss course selection for next year. On January 31st and
February 2nd, we visited social studies classrooms to give
students copies of the course offering guide, a course offering
selection sheet, and a list of all of the new electives and
courses that are being offered for 2017-2018. We will meet
with students individually over the next two weeks to discuss
course selection and plans for next year. Keep in mind that
this is the first step in the scheduling process and we will not
know when and which courses will be offered next year. When
students meet with counselors, they are expected to bring
their course offering selection sheet. On that sheet, they can
circle or highlight the electives they are interested in taking.
Teachers have made recommendations for core classes and
have discussed this information with their students. The
counselors work very hard to accommodate every students
request to allow them to have a rigorous and fruitful schedule.

Senior Applications
The application process can be a stressful process for both seniors
and parents. Our students have worked diligently, and
approximately 92% of our seniors have applied to college. Students
have already been accepted to many wonderful schools. We have
also had students commit to enroll in the following schools next
year: Boston University, Brown University, Columbia University,
Dartmouth College, Elon University, Hobart and William Smith
Colleges, Middlebury College, Muhlenberg College, Oneonta
(SUNY), St. Bonaventure University, Stetson, Syracuse University
and Wagner College. This graduating class is unique in that a nice
group of our talented seniors will be NCAA student-athletes.

Please be aware of the deadlines to register for each exam. The ACT will now be
offered here OBHS in April. We do offer free online test prep; you can access that
at methodtestprep.com. Speak to your counselor about setting up an account.
Method Test Prep also offers tutoring services on campus and off campus. You
