Font Used

To make our opening sequence more presentable, we had to decide

which font we should use. There are a number of different fonts that
could be used. We sat as a group and picked out a number of fonts
and eliminated them until we found the most suitable one for our
film.

Font 1: CALIBRI- we picked out this font as it was the simplest one.
We have all used this font before, however, we decided this font was
too smooth and too simple, therefore we decided to eliminate it.
This font did not match what we were looking for.

Font 2: APPLE CHANCERY- we all like this font as it stood out and
looked appealing to the eye. However, as our genre was horror we
could not use this as it reflected more on the romance genre due to
its style and curves. This was not what we looked for.

Font 3: CAMBRIA- this font was highly regarded when we picked it

out. We like its style and the sharpness of the letters. However, we
decided that we would make this font as our main title font,
RETRIBUTION. This font matched the horror genre, which, we
thought would reflect our film effectively.

Font 4: ADOBE CASLON PRO- having already sorted out the font for
our main title, we were looking for the font we could use for our
opening credits. As good as this font is, it was very similar to
CAMBRIA, therefore we decided to remain with CAMBRIA due to its
similarity.

Font 5: HELVETICA- we all liked this font due to its simplicity and
the way it stands out. This font is slightly similar to CALIBRI,
however, it has its differences, as it is not too simple or too smooth.
We all liked this font therefore we decided to use this for our credits.

Font Colour

Red- we liked this colour as it represents aspects of the horror

genre, which relates to blood. We decided to use this for that
reason. Furthermore, this font stands out in front of the black
background we have. The font will originally be white, but the editor
will make it fade into a blood red colour.

Black- we also liked this font as it also represents the horror genre
due its darkness. However, as our film had many scenes where low-
key lighting was used, it was unwise to black on black, as it would
not stand out. We decided to not use this font.
White- we decided to use this font as it stood out in the dark
background making it easier to read the credits. It also showed
simplicity which was one of the factors we were looking for when
choosing the colour.
