Radicals

The most generic form of a radical is:

where c = coefficient, n = index and A = root sign. The radical above is read as
: c n-th root (nth) of A. If n = 2, it is usually not represent the number 2 and
reads as c square root of A. If n = 3, reads as radical as c cube root of A. Ex
:
that is read with five cube root of 25, where 5 is the coefficient, the index is
3 and 25, the root sign.
3 √ 10 which is read as 3 square root of 10, where 3 is the coefficient, 2 (not
shown, by convention) is the index and 10, the root sign.

Introduction of an external factor in the radical
(To introduce a coefficient a radical, simply increase this rate to an exponent
equal to its index). eg 2 3 = 3.2 2 = 12 5 3 5 = 3 5.53 = 3 5 4
This property is very useful also for the simplification of radicals, because so
metimes, depending on the type of problem being addressed, it may become necessa
ry to take the opposite route. Thus, for example,

Potentiation of radicals
In general, for a radical rise to a given exponent, simply raise the root sign t
