SAP 4.

7 installation step
1. Install Windows 2000 Server/Advance Server.
Partitions C: 5 GB
D: Above 54GB + 12 GB (dump) minimum

2. Install All Device Drivers.

3. Make 'sap47ee' Folder in D: and dump the software in to the 'sap47ee' Folder.
(d:\sap47ee)

4. SID(Security Identifier) for Operating system


must be in Capital letters (eg. IND, INDIA).

1. Right Click on My comupter


2. Select Properties
3. Click on Network Identification Tab
4. Click on Proerties Button.
5. Type the SID in the Computer Name entry box.
6. Click Ok -> Apply -> Ok.

5. Virtual Memory (Always to be 3 or 4 times to the RAM or Minimum of 3GB).


1. Right Click on My comupter.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click on Advanced Tab.
4. Click on Performace Options button.
5. Select Application and click on Change

Select C: set Initial Size 2000, Max 2000


Click Set Button.
7. Select D: set Initial Size 2000, Max 2000
Click Set Button.
8. Click Ok -> Ok -> Apply -> Ok.
6. Installation of Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
1. Open Control Panel -> Open Add Remove hardware ->
7.Adjust File & Print Sharing Properties and TCP/IP Properties.

1. Right Click on My Network Places.


2. Select properties.
3. Right click on Local Area connection Select
Properties.
4. Select File & print Sharing and Click on
Properties Button.
5. Select Last radio button 'Maximize Data Througput
for Network Applications' and Click Ok.

7. Specify IP Address and Subnet
Mask and
Click on Ok.
8. Check the box Show Icon in task
bar When Connected

8. Configuring Hosts File.

1. Open

'C:\winnt\System32\
Drivers\etc\hosts' file.
2. Enter IP Adress and HOST
name and SAPTRANSHOST
3. Save the file and exit.
4. Restart System.

9. Install Java 1.4.3.x and Set Environment


variables.

1. Run the Setup file provided in the dump


folder 'sap47ee' and follow Wizard.
2. Set the JAVA Environment variable
JAVA_HOME to home folder of java
installation.
1. Right Click on My comupter.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click on Advanced Tab and Click on the
'Environment Variables' Button.
4. Click on the New button in User variables
Section Enter JAVA_HOME in Variable
Name text box and the path in the
Variable Value text box.
5. Repeat the Step 4 for System variables
section.
6. Restart System.

10. Oracle 8i(8.1.7.x.x) for SAP Installation.

1. Double Click on 'Setup.exe' and follow the steps and with default values.
(D:\sap47ee\oracle\nt\i386\setup.exe)

Provide Global Database name (can
be any)

End of Installation successful Click


exit -> Yes

2. Change the System date to future Date and Restart System.


3. Stop all Oracle Services which have started
(Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Services)
4. Double Click on setup.exe and follow the steps
(D:\sap47ee\oraclepatches\nt\i386\patches\8.1.7.4.1\setup.exe)

Follow on Screen instructions


End of Installation successful
Click exit -> Yes

5. Restart System.

11. Kernel Installation.

Install
d:\sap47ee\ker\Nt\i386\ntpatch\r3dllins.exe

Run d:\sap47ee\ker\SAPINST\NT\Setup.bat
Accept the License
Agreement

Select Custom to modify


the Installation path of
Kernel Files and Click Next

Modify path and Click Start


Select Reboot Now and Click Ok
Click Ok the reboot and the
Setup will automatically starts
when it reboots

Select SAP R/3 Enterprise


4.70 for Oracle and click
Next.

Accept the license


Agreement
Select Install Server
Components and Click
Next

Enter SAP System ID, it


must be in Capitals and of
3 Characters.

Select Central Instance


Radio button and Click
Next
Enter Instance Number, it
can be from 00 to 99 and
click Next

Enter Database System ID,


Host Name and Click Next
Select Local Installation
and Click Next

Select D: Drive for SAP


System Directory and
Click Next
Enter password for SAP
system Administrator.
Usually this user name is
<SAP System ID>adm.
Eg: r3sadm.

Click Next

Enter password for SAP


system Administrator.
Usually this user name is
SAPservice<SAP System
ID>.
Eg: SAPservicer3s.

Click Next
Leave the port number
default and Click Next

Click on Log Button to


View the Installation Log
Click Ok and the Setup
will Exit.

12. Assign the Administrator Account to the Newly Created Groups by SAP R/3 setup.

Right Click My Computer Select Manage Double Click on Local Users and Groups
Double Click on Users Right Click on the Administrator Select properties Click on
Member of Tab Click Add Select All the Groups by holding SHIFT Key Click Ok
Click Apply and then Ok

Restart the System and login as Administrator
