What are they and how are they broadcast?

FM / DAB / Satellite FM also known as Frequency Modulation is a broadcast

station, which determines the frequency of the radio
station. The radio station runs from 88 to 108 MHz. FM
has many positives and negatives, one problem with
FM radio is it unable to be broadcasted over long
distances, therefore is someone travels to far from a
FM broadcast area, they wont be able to pick the
frequency. However, this can be beneficial because it
can allow different regions to have their own
broadcasting station.

DAB also known as Digital Audio Broadcasting is a

broadcasting station which allows other station to
transmit their signals by digital technology. When it
comes to MHz, DAB does not have the same
limitations as far as the amount of distance one radio
station needs to be from other broadcasting stations to
reduce any interference. This means that people have
a wider range of radio station channels to choose
from.

Satellite Radio is a satellite-based radio broadcast

service. It uses direct broadcasting satellites, a type of
satellite used for consumer services such as radio and
television programs. It offers higher power output with
less antennas for receiving signals.
