ABSTRACT
This study is a survey of the cultural issues that underlie the processing didactic
and methodological differences and recognition of cultural diversity as an
integral part of knowledge and teaching practices in the school context. Thereby
analyzes the theoretical foundations that support the perspective of a
multicultural curriculum and show its involvement in pedagogical practice. It is
organized, in this way, as a literature, anchored in theoretical studies
concerning the subject of multicultural curriculum and the teacher's knowledge.
The first analysis reveals that multiculturalism as a theoretical level, is an
attempt to understand the process of construction of differences in the context
of cultural diversity that is present in plural societies. It is, therefore, a
curriculum of inclusiveness and emancipatory, drawn between the struggles
and claims. The school as a territory inhabited by hybrid cultural identities is,
thus, a favorable environment to understand the differences between the
groups and educational subjects. This place of hybrid interaction of identities is,
thus, in an area permeated by conflicts and contradictions. It is expected, in this
way, contributing to rethink the relationship between curriculum and teaching
activities to ensure the realization of the principles of inclusion and
emancipation that guide the curriculum in multicultural perspective.
