Title: Optics Unit Review Subject SNC2P

Time: 8:05am-9:25am Strand: Light & Optics

Desired Results

Lesson Description
This lesson serves as pure review regarding our Optics Unit. Using the review sheet, we
will explore and review the material presented over the unit including, the
electromagnetic spectrum, light properties and characteristics, subtractive and additive
colour theory, reflection, refraction and the human eye.

Ontario Curricular Overall Expectations

E1. Analyze how properties of light and colour are applied in technology and the impact
of these technologies on society;
E2. Investigate, through inquiry, properties of light, and predict its behaviour in mirrors
and as it passes through different media;
E3. Demonstrate an understanding of characteristics and properties of light, particularly
with respect to reflection and refraction and the addition and subtraction of colour.

Ontario Curricular Specific Expectations

E2.1 E2.2 E2.3 E2.4 E3.3 E3.4 E3.5 E3.6 E3.7 E3.8

Lesson Goal
To understand the electromagnetic spectrum, light properties and characteristics,
subtractive and additive colour theory, reflection, refraction and the human eye.
To be able to apply that information and understanding of curse material

Success Criteria
I can explain the electromagnetic spectrum, light properties and characteristics,
subtractive and additive colour theory, reflection, refraction and the human eye.
I can draw a ray diagram and use it to determine where a reflection will end up, or where
and image will be and the characteristics associated with it
