Motivation

Motivation is an internal process that makes a person move

toward a goal.
Students are part of people who live a kind of lack of motivation
and concentration with their studies and real life.
If students do not believe that their efforts are likely to improve
their performance, they will not be motivated to work hard , they
may also have had discouraging experiences in similar courses or
on early assignments in a course that convince them they cannot
do the work.
Mental or physical health problems, substance abuse, and other
personal problems can interfere with individual students
motivation to exert effort in a course . It could be some family
problems sometimes as divorce or rich parents etc
College students who often (not always) struggle to balance
different goals, which may be academic (succeeding in their
classes, completing double and triple majors), pre-professional
(attending conferences), social (making friends, finding a romantic
partner, having fun), and physical (getting adequate sleep,
exercising).
There is a lot of reasons behing students lack of motivation as :
- Students do not believe that their efforts will improve their
performance.
- Present activities not seen as related to important goals.
- Some teachers dont respect students hard work and difference
of capacities.
- etc

Students could be motivated to work more by different ways as :

- Students look to teachers for approval and positive
reinforcement, and are more likely to be enthusiastic about
learning if they feel their work is recognized and valued.
- Advice students to watch some motivation videos (it helps very
much).
- Take some break after hard work.
- Make participating fun by giving each student a job to do.
- Rewards give students a sense of accomplishment and
encourage them to work with a goal in mind.
