When installing and assembling the motor/generator, the following conditions must be met to ensure that the motor can be
correctly assembled with other parts to form a complete system without impairing the safety and health of persons:

Inspection items O. K. Notes

The system is correctly installed

The motor is installed and aligned in accordance with the specifications

The controller and speed monitor conform to the specifications
The motor is connected in accordance with the specified direction of rotation
Lubrication of the bearings depending on design. Relubrication of rolling bearing
machines which have been in storage for longer than 24 months
The drive elements conform to the specifications with reference to axial position,
alignment and balance
Protective measures have been implemented to prevent contact with the shaft
stub
The minimum insulation values have been adhered to (min. 1 M)

The motor is connected in accordance with the specified direction of rotation

The earth and equipotential bonding connections are correctly installed

The rotor can be freely rotated

The ventilation air feed is not obstructed

Remove screwed-in lifting lugs after positioning or securing against loosening

The minimum insulation values and minimum clearances have been adhered to
All fastening screws, connection elements and electrical connections have been
firmly tightened to the specified torques
The existing supplementary installations such as temperature monitoring,
downtime heating etc. are connected and operational

All guards for moving or live parts are installed

Protective measures are in place to prevent contact with the second shaft stub
on the non-drive end
If the second shaft stub on the non-drive end is not used, the fitted key is
secured to prevent its flying free
The installed forced ventilation is ready for operation and connected in
accordance with the specified direction of rotation
Installed brake has been checked for proper function

The specified mechanical speed limit is being adhered to (n max).

If a gearbox is installed, the oil level has been checked in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications
Motor loaded under correct operation
Smooth running checked
Values for voltage, current, power recorded

Corresponding values of the working machine are also recorded where possible

Temperatures of bearings, windings etc. monitored and recorded to the thermal

maintenance point where possible
