Camiguin Polytechnis State College since 2005 is the sole institution who
had been offering a medical inclined course,Nursing, in the entire Province of
Camiguin. In the year 2016, the Nursing Department of the said institution had
officially closed and ended their offer. As their offer with the said course ended, so
as the dream of the students planning to pursue a medical inclined course. The
absence of institutions offering Medical courses in the Province of Camiguin had
brought many undesirable effects to the students of Mambajao, specifically the
Grade 11 STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) students of
Fatima College of Camiguin. The purpose of this research is to find out what are
the various effects of the absence of Institutions inclined to medical courses in
Camiguin to the STEM students of FCC, which is the only school to offer the
strand,it also where all the planning medical students of Grade 11 in the entire
Province are studying . Through this research, we want to find out, whether they
will pursue the second option college courses they have in mind or choose another
option , which is to study outside the Province. All of these is for only one aim, to
help the future Medical students with their studies and lead them to their success
through the solutions we are about to find out by doing a survey and also interview
among the grade 11 STEM students of FCC, to know their choices and their
concerns after the absence of their hope, the Institution that offers Medical
courses.
