Create their own sentences using verbal phrase
Reflect the importance of using the right verbal phrase

Introduction
Good morning Grade 10 students! Good morning Ms. Garcia! Were glad
to see you.
Im glad to see you too. Please take your seat.
Is anyone absent for today? No one sir.
Thats great! Im glad that all of you are present.
Review of the past lesson
Before we proceed to our new lesson, lets Our lesson was all about verb.

Again, what is verb? Merry Chris. A verb is used in a sentence to show
action.
Correct! Therefore verbs are words that
indicates an action.

Motivation
Before we start our lesson, lets play a game the
name of the game is Verbal Phrase
Pantomime Relay.
Ill divide the class into two groups to make it
even, let us count 1 to 2.

Lets start Joy.


Mechanics:
Each group will form a horizontal line. The first
member of the group will act the verbs written
in the card then the next member preceded the
first member will guess the verb and act it as
well. All the group members will follow the same
procedure until it reaches the last member is the
one who will write the answer in the blanks.
Rules:
All the members except the first
one will turn wound. They are
allowed to look only if its their turn
to guess. Tap the shoulder of your
group mates as a go signal.
Speaking while acting is illegal.
The first group to write the correct
answer will get the point.
Before starting a round, each
group will make a rotation.
(The purpose of this game is to review the
students about verbs through projecting
actions. Through this, they will be familiarize
and able to distinguish verb forms as a
preparation for our todays lesson which is
verbal phrase.)
Lesson Proper

I enjoyed it too, now we can proceed to our next
lesson. Our lesson for today is about verbal
phrase.
A verbal phrase consists of a verbal and any
objects or modifiers.
There are three types of verbal phrase:
1.Infinitive
2.Participial
3.Gerund
In order for you to further understand the verbal
phrase. We will discuss it one at a time and I will
give examples from that certain type of verbal
phrase.
INIFINITIVE:
Starts with an infinitive which is followed
by any objects, and / modifiers.

The last type of verbal phrase is GERUND:
Consist of a gerund and any objects and/
modifiers. Can look similar to participial
phrase because gerund has the same
form as the present participle. BUT this
functions as a noun (SUBJECT,
OBJECT, SUBJECT COMPLEMENT,
APPOSITIVE)

Underline the verbal phrase in the sentences and identify what type of verbal phrase

3. Blowing bubbles on windy day is a fun activity for children.
