EasyLabour® is a natural, easy way for
parturients to control and relieve
pain during labour. Clinically-proven
and based on well-known
acupressure techniques, EasyLabour
allows labouring women to safely
take control of their pain relief – naturally.
The comfortable device may be attached with the first signs of the latent stage of labour.
The intensity and duration of acupressure applied by the device are fully controlled by the labouring woman.
EasyLabour does not interfere in any way with obstetric procedures or with the monitoring of mother’s or baby’s vital signs.
The results indicated that continuous rotational pressure applied to the sacral area while using the self-operated
electro-mechanical EasyLabour® device significantly reduced labour pain within five minutes from beginning of use.
Preliminary indications also suggested a shorter pain period during a contraction while using EasyLabour.

Acupressure in Labour
Acupressure is a well known technique where mechanical pressure is applied to specific anatomical points
called acu-points. Known acu-points for labour pain relief are located on the hands, feet and over the sacrum.
The effect is believed to be achieved by stimulating the nervous system, through the release
of endorphins and opioids. Various trials on acupressure showed efficacy in specifically reducing labour pain.
In one study acupressure was applied to points on the dorsum of the hand and on the lateral foot with cycles
of 10 seconds of sustained pressure and two seconds of rest for 20 minutes. In another, acupressure was
applied to the medial leg, superior to the medial malleolus, on the posterior border of the tibia, for a period
of 30 minutes during active contractions. A third study used rhythmic pressure over the sacrum, the shoulder
and other dorsal areas for 30 minutes. These clinical studies conform well to the results of the study carried
out using EasyLabour. This provides scientifically-based evidence that acupressure applied to the sacral
area eases pain during labour.
