Sthir Dasha
In this Dasha system 7, 8 and 9 years are the Dasha periods of the Movable (Chara),Fixed
(Sthira) and Dual (Dwisvabhava) rasis. In this system the Dasha of the 12 rasis begins from
the rasi where Brahma Graha is placed. The Dashas are counted onwards from the odd rasis and in
the reverse order from the even rasi.
Chakr Dasha
If the birth is at night, the Dasha will commence from Lagna. If the birth is during the day, the Dasha
will start from the rasi, where lord of Lagna is placed. If the birth is during Sandhya, the Dasha will
begin from the rasi of the second Bhava. The Dasha of each rasiis 10 years.
Shastihayani Dasha
This Dasha becomes operative, when surya is placed in Lagna. The order of Dasha Lords
is: Guru, Surya, Mangal, Chandra, Budha, Sukhra, Sani and Rahu. The Dashas of Guru, Surya and
Mangal are of 10 years. The remaining Grahas have Dashas of 6 years
each.Guru (Ashvini, Bharani, Kritika, Punarvasu), Surya (Rohini, Mrigashira, Ardra, U.Ashadha),Man
gal (Pushya, Aslesha, Magha, Revati), Chandra (P.Phalguni, U.Phalguni, Hast),Budha (Swati, Visha

from Mula Nakshatra to the Janma Nakshatra and divide the number by 8. The remainder indicate
the Dasha Lords in the order: Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budha, Guru,Sukhra, Sani and Rahu. In this
Dasha system all the eight Grahas have Dashas of 9 years each.
Chaturashiti-Sama Dasha

Swati to the Janma Nakshatra and divide the number by 7. The remainder will indicate the Dasha
Lords in the order: Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budha, Guru, Sukhra and Sani. The Dasha period of
each Graha is 12 years.
Shodshottari Dasha
The Dasha becomes operative either the Lagna is in the Hora of Chandra (birth during Krishna
Paksha) or Lagna is in the Hora of Surya (birth in the Shukla Paksha). Count the number of
Nakshatras from Pushya to the Janma Nakshatra. Dividing this number by 8, the remainder will be
dashas of Surya, Mangal, Guru, Sani, Ketu, Chandra, Budha, Sukhra and are of 11, 12, 13, 14, 15,
16, 17, 18 years respectively.

these Yoginis are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 years totaling 36 years. Add 3 to nakshatra number. Divide by 8.
The remainder represents the Yogini dasha operative at the time of birth. If the reminder is
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, then Mangala, Pingala, Dhanya, Bhramari, Bhadrika, Ulka, Siddha, Sankata dasha in
operation.

indicates the Dasha in the order of the lords is Surya, Budha, Sani, Mangal,Sukhra, Chandra, Guru
and periods are 12, 13, 14, 15, 16,17, 18 years respectively.
Dwadashottari Dasha

number is divided by seven. The remainder indicates the Lords of Dashas in this order: Surya, Chandra, Sukra,
Budha,Guru, Mangal and Sani and period will be 5, 5, 10, 10, 20, 20 and 30 years respectively.

Mahasasha i.e Ketu, Sukhra, Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Rahu, Guru, Sani, Budha, each having same
proportional period length
Vimshottari Dasha
Vimshottari Dasha is a cycle of planetary position based on the position of chandra in one of the twenty seven
