home you find out that you have left a bag at the hotel.
Explain in the letter when did you visit the hotel.

Dear Mr. Joshi,
I visited your hotel on 23rd March and stayed in room 342 until 25 March. We had a
business meeting and even booked your hall for the meeting. It was surely a great
visit, however, on reaching home I discovered that I had left one of my bags at the
hotel.
The bag is a red color VIP bag with a green color ribbon tied to one of the chains.
Although the bag is locked, the front chain has got a photo of mine along with a
photostat of your hotels menu. Even more, there is a calculator and a parker.
Although, inside the bag, there are only clothes of mine, but they do are important
especially because I bought them after a lot of cultural analysis.
I would appreciate if you could check with your lost and found department and inform
me if there is a bag. The clothes are important as I need to wear them for the
presentations starting next week. I would be grateful if you could send them to the
airport tomorrow where I could pick them, services will be payed.

ISSUES IN MUSEUM
You went to a museum with an elderly friend of yours last week and found some

Dear Sir/Madam,
We have had an immense pleasure in visiting your museum over the last few years. It
was because of this reputation that I invited my grandfather and his friends to visit the
museum.It was very obvious to me that they will love it.
However, it is quite disheartening for me to tell you that there were a couple of issues
they faced.Firstly, there is no order or story to the things displayed in the museum.
This made it very difficult for them to grasp the basic concept of a particular thing
displayed.
Secondly, there is very little help available. My grandfather wanted to go to the toilet
but could not find it and when we tried seeking out help, all we got were some
confusing answers.
I believe it will be better if the items displayed in the museum have a story to tell
making it easier to understand the significance of the things displayed. Even more,
since the space in the museum is too large, having people to help the elderly in finding
things will surely increase the visitors.

Last week I was visited by my grandparents and their friends. To make their stay

I believe these are not major concerns for the young people. However, when looking
at the perspective of the elderly, these do become big issues. Hope that you will work
on them.

though this phone has an eight mega pixel camera, the photos were terribly blurred.
Initially, I thought my hand shook while taking the pictures. But, even after keeping the

was to discover these technical faults in such an expensive model.
Naturally, I contacted the store to report the problem. Your representative said that

answer to me.
I am very disappointed with both the equipment and the service I have received.

Getting a high band in IELTS is not just about knowing the right English, it is more than
that. Let us have a look at what it is about
1. Answer The Entire Question Properly- Each IELTS letter consist of three
parts, three bullets and you need to make sure that you have answer all the points
completely in order to score well. Leaving any of the points, you can get penalized
for task response. Also make sure that you elaborate on each of the point, this
may mean you need to write more about one topic and less about another.
2. Think About The Type Of Letter- There are four kinds of letters that can be
asked in IELTS, and your response to it depends on the type of letter it is. So, if
you are writing to a friend, you need to be a little more informal, but if writing to
your head or some other authority, you need to be formal.
3. Use Varied Grammar There is a score in IELTS for writing varied form of
grammar sentences, so no matter you are writing to a friend, make sure you use
variety of grammar sentences.
4. Plan It Right It is a good idea to know how you are going to write a letter,
what you are going to write, how you are going to end it. So, get the answers to
the above questions, before you start writing the letter.
5. Word Limit- This is the most important thing, no matter how great your letter
is, if it falls short of the work limit, even by a single word, you are going to lose
marks and that is for sure.
6. Punctuation And Spellings It is always a good idea to use punctuation
marks, but make sure that it is used correctly, also make sure that the spelling is
right. You do lose marks on wrong spellings.

You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very
unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel
was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:

-explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
-say what action you would like the manager to take

Dear Sir/Madam,
The reason I am writing to you is the poor quality of services provided to me during
my last visit at your hotel. The services provided were excellent for the first few hours
after I checked in but the issues started popping up when I started staying.
The first issue that I noticed was that the heating system of the hotel was not
working. While making my bookings I was assured that I need not bring along any
blankets as there is a heating system and I will not face any issues. However, when I
inquired to the staff about it they plainly told me that it is not working and I must make
my own arrangements regarding it. When I tried to contact you by phone, no one
would give me any sensible answer.
The next major issue was of water. You can imagine how frustrated and puzzled I was

Hope this finds you well. I was very happy when I received your letter. We havent
seen each other for a long time and I was very much looking forward to spending time
with you. But, I was told recently that I am being transferred to Australia for three
months for shooting the life of Australians. I cannot refuse it because it is my dream
project. But dont worry I have made the arrangements for your visit.
When you reach here, contact Anish, a good friend of mine on 4444556214. He has
offered his help and will pick you up from the airport and you can then collect the keys
from him. There are no major issues in the house and I have already paid the bills, so
you dont need to worry. The LPG comes every 10th of month in morning and the
money and card for it are kept under cover of fridge. You can use the geaser but
please make sure you switch it off after use or else electricity will shut down.
You will find the keys of car and bike on table when you reach there. Feel free to use
them. If you have time you might enjoy the beach outside. There are night parties

after filling the form but, in my situation the circumstance is uncompromising. The fact
that, I had no idea that I will fall in love with English after one year, made me make the
choice. I have tried reading computers but the urge to teach English more keeps
hitting me.
Therefore, reading computers for the next two years does not makes any sense to
me.

official documents which I had to submit at my office on reaching. The suitcase, had
my clothes, hard disk, and other random things. Although the clothes are not
important, but the hard disk is very important for me.
When I contacted your representative, they told me that it must have got left out while
picking luggage from Bahamas and it will be returned back to me within a week. I was
a bit hazy but they provided me the assurance that within a week they shall call me
and return me back the suitcase.
Naturally, I waited for the call, but after ten days, I was bound to return to the airlines.
On reaching there, I was told that they have not received any such complaint and
hence, no action was taken place. I then asked them to call the person who assured
me ten days back. Imagine my feelings when I learned from him that there has been
no action taken since they were busy with other important customers. When I tried to
contact you by phone, no one could offer me any sensible answer. As a solution he
offered that I wait for another one month, before I receive the luggage.
I am very disappointed with your airlines and expect that my luggage be returned as
soon as possible.

WHO ARE YOU WRITING LETTER TO?

Remember one thing you will be always provided the information you require for
writing task. All you need to do is looking through the text and find for whom is the
letter directed. Usually it Is either a particular person or group of people. Even more ,
you will be given their names, their wont be anyone you need to give names to.
The introduction of the letter is the greeting, Dear ___________ and the first sentence

Now you need to search for clues in the question. Remember there is nothing that

Parents are the ones who imbibe good morals and etiquettes in their children at home
during their initial stages which they maintain for the rest of their lives. It is the
environment provided by them that mould the children into the human beings they
grow up to be and their treatment of people around them. It is at home with the
parents they discuss about the world and its vices, in order to distinguish between the
good and the bad. The parents lay the foundation stone of their children upon which
they grow into and become good Samaritans.
On the other hand, school is where they spend more of their time in the later stages.
When in school, the teachers are their sole authority and are responsible for their
growth and development. Children have to follow the rules and regulations set by the
school in order to lead a disciplined life, inside and outside the school vicinity. It is in
school that the children learn academically and socially which makes them well
rounded individuals. They learn how to cope with situations and deal with people which
is important for them to subsist as good beings in the real world.
In conclusion, it can be said that for children to become a responsible and

conscientious human beings, the involvement of both the parents and the school in
teaching them right from wrong and good behaviour within the society is necessary.
Separately, they cannot be held responsible for the childrens overall growth and
development into ethically good members of our society.

I am a regular customer at your restaurant because of the excellent quality and an

array of delicious meals that you offer on your menu. This is regarding the meal I had
at your restaurant last week. I took my friend for dinner whom I had raved to about
your delectable cuisine.
Both my friend and I sat and went through the menu to decide the order. As we sat
there, neither did anyone fill up our water glasses, nor did they come to take the
order. I had to literally go up to the front desk to request the water as well as place
the order. Even after having placed the order, our meal arrived an hour later and that
too cold. It was quite embarrassing and disappointing for me as I had given excellent
reviews about your food and service to my friend.
After finishing the unsatisfactory meal, I still paid for the food and left a tip for the
