Hermione Granger: Thanks to the Mountain Troll

Character: Hermione is an eleven year old witch who is in her first year at Hogwarts. She is a

very clever witch--the most intelligent of her year--but has been having trouble making friends

with other students. She tends to correct others and prevent them from breaking any rules.

Audience: Harry and Ron, who are two students whom Hermione has had to interact with

throughout her past two months at Hogwarts. They werent really friends, but just had to work

together in class. Hermione also frequently attempted to stop them from getting into trouble.

After a certain incident, though, they become her first friends at Hogwarts.

Setting: The Gryffindor House Common Room. Hermione is sitting with Harry and Ron. Earlier

in the day, Ron insulted Hermione about something, and she went to cry in the bathroom, when

a mountain troll was let into the school. While students were supposed to go to their rooms,

Ron and Harry wandered away and locked the troll in a room that Hermione happened to be in.

They heard her screams and ran over to her, and after much struggle, knocked out the trol. A

professor came in angrily, but Hermione lied for them, saying she had gone looking for the troll

and Harry and Ron saved her. Afterwards, in the Common Room, they all stood silently, and

simply said thanks to each other, and are still sitting there.

Goal: Hermiones goal is to thank Harry and Ron for saving her from the troll, and explain why

she has been acting the way she has the past two months
