    First Aid requirement under THE FACTORIES ACT, 1948 (CHAPTER

    V, S.No. 45)

    Requirement of First Aid Box as per Factories Act.

    (A) For factories in which mechanical power is used and the number of persons
    employed does not exceed ten, or in the case of factories in which mechanical power
    is not used and the number of persons employed does not exceed fifty(>50),

    Each first-aid box or cup-board contain the following equipments :

    5. (60 ml.) bottle of cetrimide solution (1 per cent) or a suitable 01

    6. (60 ml. bottle of mercurochrome solution (2 per cent) in water. 01
    7. (30 ml.) bottle containing Sal-volatile having the dose and 01
    mode of administration indicated on the label.
    8. Pair of scissors 01
    9. Roll of adhesive plaster (2 cms X 1 meter) 01
    10. Pieces of sterilized eye pads in separate sealed packets 06
    11. Bottle containing 100 tablets (each of 5 grains) of aspirin or 01
    any other analgesic
    12. Polythene wash bottle (1/2 liter i.e., 500 c.c.) for washing eyes. 01
    13. Snake-bite lancet 01
    14. (30 ml.) bottle containing potassium permanganate crystals 01
    15. First aid leaflet 01

    (B) For factories in which mechanical power is used and in which number of
    persons, employed exceeds ten but does not exceed fifty (10>50)

    Each first-aid box or cup-board shall contain the following equipment :-
