Industry’s Smallest and Fastest USB UARTs
Single, Dual, and Quad-Channel UARTs with Industry’s Smallest Package Choices,
I nterface

plus Optimized Software Drivers Deliver Superior Design Options

The XR21V1410 (V1410), XR21V1412 (V1412), and XR21V1414 (V1414) are enhanced 1-channel, 2-channel and 4-channel Universal Asynchronous

Receiver and Transmitter (UART) with a USB interface. The USB interface is fully compliant to Full Speed USB 2.0 specification that supports 12

Mbps USB data transfer rate. The USB interface also supports USB suspend, resume and remote wakeup operations. The V141x operates from an

internal 48 MHz clock therefore no external crystal/oscillator is required like previous generation UARTs. With the fractional baud rate generator,

any baud rate can accurately be generated using the internal48MHz clock. The large 128-byte TX FIFO and 384-byte RX FIFO of the V141x helps to

optimize the overall data throughput for various applications. The Automatic Transceiver Direction control feature simplifies both the hardware and

software for half-duplex RS-485 applications. The multi-drop(9-bit) mode with automatic half-duplex transceiver control feature further simplifies

typical multidropRS-485 applications. The V141x operates from a single 2.97 to 3.63 voltpower supply and has 5V tolerant inputs. Virtual COM port

drivers for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and CE, as well as Linux and Mac are supported for the XR21V1410, XR21V1412 and XR21V1414.

High-Brightness LED Driver Controller with
High-Side Current Sense

LED D river
Savings For Mainstream Lighting Applications
The MIC3203 is a new Step-Down High Brightness LED (HBLED)
driver controller IC with high-side current sense and PWM dithering
feature for EMI control. This device reduces the complexity and
cost of LED driver solutions for high current MR-16 lamps, track/
pathway lighting and other architectural lighting applications.

With the ever increasing concern regarding carbon emissions

and energy costs, high-efficiency lighting has become one of the
highest growth segments of the electronics market. This LED driver
provides the performance, flexibility and ease-of-use required by
LED lighting system designers to meet these challenges.

The MIC3203 is capable of driving multiple HBLEDs in series

at more than 90 percent efficiency with +/-5 percent current
accuracy from input voltages of 4.5V to 42V. With its hysteretic
control architecture and high-side current sense scheme, the
MIC3203 provides an ideal solution to drive the HBLEDs with
constant current. The MIC3203 operating frequency is adjustable
up to 1.5MHz to allow flexibility in the design. The MIC3203
features a dedicated PWM dimming pin, an enable pin for very
low power shutdown, over temperature protection and an under
voltage lockout. The MIC3203 has an external power switch and
requires no external compensation. In addition to enhanced power

LT3032 - Dual 150mA Positive/Negative Low Noise
P ow er Managem ent

Low Dropout Linear Regulator

Dual Positive/Negative ±20VIN ±150mA LDO Offers 20µVRMS
The LT®3032 is a dual, low noise, positive and negative low dropout
voltage linear regulator. Each regulator delivers up to 150mA with a
typical 300mV dropout voltage. Each regulator’s quiescent current is
low (30μA operating and <3μA in shutdown) and well-controlled in
dropout, making it an excellent choice for battery-powered circuits.

Another key feature of the LT3032 is low output noise. Adding an

external 10nF bypass capacitor to each regulator reduces output
noise to 20μVRMS/30μVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth. The
LT3032 is stable with minimum output capacitors of 2.2μF. The
regulators do not require the addition of ESR as is common with
other regulators.

Internal protection circuitry includes reverse output protection,

current limiting, and thermal limiting. Each regulator is offered as an
adjustable output device with an output voltage down to the ±1.22V
reference voltages.

The LT3032 is available in a unique low profile 14-lead 4mm × 3mm × 0.75mm DFN package with exposed backside pads for each regulator, allowing
optimum thermal performance.

LT3029 - Dual 500mA/500mA Low Dropout, Low
Noise, Micropower Linear Regulator
An excellent choice for battery-powered “keep alive” systems that require optimum run time

The LT®3029 is a dual, micropower, low noise, low dropout

linear regulator. The device operates either with a common input
supply or independent input supplies for each channel, over an
input voltage range of 1.8V to 20V. Each output supplies up to
500mA of output current with a typical dropout voltage of 300mV.
Quiescent current is well controlled in dropout. With an external
10nF bypass capacitor, output noise is only 20μVRMS over a 10Hz
to 100kHz bandwidth. Designed for use in battery-powered
systems, the low 55μA quiescent current per channel makes it
an ideal choice. In shutdown, quiescent current drops to less
than 1μA. Shutdown control is independent for each channel,
allowing for flexible power management.

The LT3029 optimizes stability and transient response with low

ESR ceramic output capacitors, requiring a minimum of only
3.3μF. The regulator does not require the addition of ESR, as is
common with other regulators.

Internal circuitry provides reverse-battery protection, reverse

input–to–output protection, current limiting with foldback and thermal shutdown. The device is available as an adjustable output voltage device with a 1.215V
reference voltage. The LT3029 is offered in the thermally enhanced 16-lead MSOP and 16-lead, low profile (4mm × 3mm × 0.75mm) DFN packages.

Advanced Features — Best-in-Class Electrostatic Discharge Protection and

Adjustable Logic Level — Critical for Networking and Telecommunications Markets
The SP510 is a highly integrated physical layer solution that can be configured to support
multiple serial protocol standards. It incorporates eight (8) drivers and eight (8) receivers,
that can be adapted for either differential (V.11 or V.35) or single ended (V.28 and V.10)
signaling. The device architecture is designed to support the data and clock signals
used in HDLC or SDLC serial ports as either a DTE or DCE. The SP510 enables a Serial
Communications Controller (SCC) to implement a variety of serial interface standards
including V.10, V.11, V.28 (RS-232), V.35, V.36 (RS-449), EIA-530, EIA-530-A, or X.21.
It requires only a single 5V supply for full operation. All bus-pins are protected against
severe ESD events up to ±15kV (Human Body Model). Devices are available in Commercial
