PROJECT PLAN 1

Introduction

Arizona in Italy is a University of Arizona (UA) study abroad program located in the

charming town of Orvieto, Italy. Founded in 2002, Dr. David Soren, a Regents Professor at UA

worked with renowned Italian Architects and current Program Coordinators Dr. Alba Frascarelli

and Dr. Claudio Bizzarri to create the study abroad program. With features like: direct-credit for

all majors, courses taught by UA faculty, and more affordable tuition for out-of state students,

AZ in Italy has quickly become one of the most popular study abroad options for Arizona

students. Classes are held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, leaving time for faculty-led

excursions on Wednesdays and Fridays.

This semester the Communication and Public Relations course is taught by Aimee King,

an accredited PR professional and UA Communication Professor. The curriculum is centered on

the practice of strategic public relations, through the study of effective communication strategies

used in identifying audiences, achieving objectives and evaluating communication efforts. As

part of the coursework for this semester's class, each student is assigned a particular AZ in Italy

social media channel to generate weekly content for. At the end the semester, the students are

asked to formulate a social media campaign proposal using the R.A.C.E. (Research, Action,

Communication, Evaluation) process to access the effectiveness of their content in reaching their

goals. This proposal outlines my social media campaign for the AZ in Italy Facebook page.
