Introduction
Mesh is used to obtain the current in it.
Mesh is a loop with no other loop inside it.
Can only be applied on planar circuits !!
Contrary to node voltage, here the mesh current is
used.
A mesh current is a current that flows on the perimeter of
the mesh.
An arrow is used usually to show the direction of the
mesh current.
A mesh current may not be the actual current in the
circuit.

Introduction
A mesh current always satisfy KCL.
At any given node
Mesh current entering = mesh current leaving
Equations required = [b-(n-1)]
The procedure to solve mesh current is as follows
Designate the mesh in a circuit.
Define the direction of currents.
Write the equations and prepare the matrices.
Solve to get the mesh currents.
Compute the actual currents.

Example 4.4 [8th ed.]
It has 5 nodes and 7 branches with
Unknown current. So b-(n-1)=7-(5-1)=3
Equations are required.

Step 1: Mesh are designated

Step 2 : Current direction is defined

Assessment problem
Power in 80V=?
Power in R8=?

Power in 80V=400W
Power in R8=50W

Mesh method with dependent sources
Find power in R4.
Apply equations
5(i1-i2)+20(i1-i3)=50
5(i2-i1)+1i2+4(i2-i3)=0
20(i3-i1)+4(i3-i2)+15i
i=i1-i3 i2=26A
I3=28A

PR4=(i3-i2)2R=16W
