Role Title: Graphic Designer

Role Reports to: Senior Graphic Designer & Client Manager

Reporting to this Role: N/A

Functional Relationships: Chief Executive, Service Development Manager, National Manager Operations,
Research Manager, Corporate Services Manager, Kaumtua, Event Manager, Strategic
Sponsors.
Purpose and Primary Goals of the Role: To excel in Mori contemporary design across a range of mediums.

Overview: A talented graphic designer is required to join Te Rau Design. As part of our in-house
studio, based in Wellington, you will collaborate with diverse areas of the business to
deliver quality design outcomes across our portfolio.

Your work will encompass a range of tasks including innovative branding projects and
daily corporate design tasks. As a result you will need to be as motivated in assisting
with new concepts and thinking outside the box, as you are with updating existing
design projects and publications.

This role would suit a recent graduate or entry level graphic designer with a passion
for exciting and innovative, design and print. Your portfolio should demonstrate a
proven capability in brand development and collateral design, excellent typography
skills, excellent Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator skills as well as a high level of
attention to detail.

The position will require skills in animation, art/fine art, communication design, digital
media, multimedia systems, web design, photography, print and digital media
management.

A portfolio of work is requested with a focus on the use and application of Mori
contemporary design. This is a permanent full time role based in our Wellington
offices.

About Te Rau Matatini


Te Rau Matatini is a national Mori health and disability workforce development organisation which has been operating since
2002. Our focus is on nationally navigated locally led solutions to Mori health and health workforce requirements. We
enable this by supporting Mori Health Leadership, designing innovative workforce solutions, delivering culturally relevant
workforce training and responding to the needs of Mori communities through innovative service design and research. Te Rau
Matatini also provides a number of scholarships to build and strengthen the Mori Health workforce.

Te Rau Matatini is contracted by Health Workforce New Zealand, within the Ministry of Health, as the national centre for the
Mori Mental Health and Addiction Workforce.

Our focus is to:

Foster the strength of Mori health leadership through the implementation of the Henry Rongomau Bennett Foundation
Leadership Programme
Implement dual-competencies into training curricula, career pathways, scope of practice and professional development
programmes
Promote the early recognition and appropriate intervention of mental health in other health and broader whnau ora and
primary health sectors
Extend health training and career pathways for Mori in nursing, whnau ora and primary health sectors
Promote and award workforce scholarships and bursaries for Mori mental health and addictions workforces
Support Mori Health research and development
Ensure all Te Rau Matatini workforce solutions are accessible at the front-line, in areas where it is challenging to recruit or
retain, and areas that are regionally responsive
Work with the other key sector organisation to encourage networking and collaboration both nationally and internationally

Te Rau Matatini is also a leader in Mori Suicide Prevention, and also provides training and support for the Mori Public Health
Workforces. In August 2011, Te Rau Matatini became a registered private training establishment (PTE) trading as Te Hau
Mia.

Te Rau Design, a specialist Mori contemporary design studio, has also been established within Te Rau Matatini. This studio
focuses on enhancing communication, promotions and training materials for use within Mori communities.
