acceleration due to gravity (g). In order to do so, a spring was suspended from a clamp attached to a 1m retort stand. The spring was loaded with masses at 20g intervals, beginning at 90g. The mass was then pulled down 1-2cm from the reference point, where it was held and then released. A stopwatch was then used to record the time t in seconds for 10 complete oscillations to have taken place. In order to check the validity of the variables, the time for 10 oscillations at the initial loading weight of 90g was recorded twice. Following this, the experiment was repeated with a loaded mass of 110g, 130g, 150g and 170g so that the change in t could be observed and recorded.
