Reference Letter for Molly Petersen

April 2017

It has been a pleasure to supervise the yearlong internship of Molly Petersen at

Whitehills Elementary School in East Lansing, Michigan. During her internship,
Molly worked in a 2nd grade classroom and was fully involved in planning for and
teaching all academic subjects. Molly is an enthusiastic, reliable, and amiable
intern; she is highly recommended for an elementary or middle school teaching
position.

As a result of my observations and interactions with Molly this year, I can easily
see her as an effective teacher at any elementary/middle grade. She also has
the organization and time management skills to excel in all of the many
responsibilities of teaching. Molly consistently demonstrated excellent judgment
as she made teaching decisions and helped her 2nd graders make positive
behavior choices. She used engagement strategies at times that were natural
and effective. Although she effectively guided student learning in all subjects,
she especially loves to teach science.

Molly is diligent, sincere, empathetic, ambitious, and resourceful. Strengths

include effective classroom management strategies, sense of humor, and
genuine interest in her students. During our intern seminars, Molly consistently
contributed in ways that were helpful and supportive to her peers. She has
demonstrated a high degree of personal integrity and responsibility.

Before retiring, I served as a principal in two Michigan public school districts.

College of Molly is the kind of teacher any principal would love to have on staff. She has all
Education of the attributes of a professional educator: commitment to students, knowledge
gained through completion of a strong teacher preparation program, and desire
