• Responsible for managing and writing all grants requests and securing new resources
resulting in an increase in government fee for service contracts by 76%

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (LCIF), Oak Brook, Illinois 3/1990 to 2/2000

Was the first development officer for a foundation that supported the goals and objectives of the
world’s largest service club organization. LCIF’s programmatic emphasis is on health care:
primarily eyes, hearing and youths’ needs of healthcare. Charged with creating a comprehensive
international development program that included both an annual appeal and a planned giving
component. Addressed issues of programmatic accountability; financial review, regulatory
compliance as identified.
• Created and promoted the Heritage Club, a planned giving club resulting in actualized gifts
of $3.4M and expectancies of $1.6M by soliciting members from the United States, England
and India
• Designed, marketed and implemented training programs intended to enhance the fund-
raising skills of targeted volunteers and the resources committed to LCIF
• Instituted the grant contract, reporting, compliance process and tracking for the
Foundation’s $142M SightFirst program insuring reporting to members on funds use and
impact
• Oversaw the financials for 201 grants worth $32.3M for the SightFirst program in 26
countries
• Wrote policy for Foundation’s endowment program which included tracking investment
income, distributing grant revenue and monitoring its use and compliance with donor’s
intent
• Managed all campaign completion work resulting in $39.8M in gifts, bringing the campaign
to closure $12.3M million over its original $130M goal
• Conducted presentations to individuals and groups in over 25 countries
• Initiated and managed state registration and related domestic and international
compliance matters allowing for participation in multiple work-place campaigns
