RE: Terie Shelton

To whom it may concern:

It has been my pleasure to have had Terie as my student in Pediatric Nursing at Shenandoah University
during her senior year. I had the opportunity to have her in both the clinical setting at Winchester
Medical Center and for her didactic classes at the University. She excelled in both areas. She far
exceeded my expectations.

Terie came to class and to clinical well prepared and with an eagerness to learn all she could. She has a
positive personality, a genuine smile and an overwhelming desire to learn. Who could ask for more? It
is apparent that she loves nursing. She was challenged with a very unique patient on the floor and
handled it professionally. She is open to new ideas and went out of her way to help the other nurses.
She will be a great team player and an asset to any nursing unit. As an adult learner she has easily
incorporated her years of experience into her new profession of nursing.

I highly recommend her to your institution. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate
to contact me at 571-246-1719 or by email: dmattimi@su.edu. Thank you in advance for considering
Terie.

Subject: Letter of recommendation for Terie Shelton

As an assistant professor at Shenandoah University, I have had the pleasure of having Terie
Shelton as a student in Nursing Foundations, Health Assessment, and supervising her during her
first clinical experience. She has been an ideal student. I would like to take this opportunity to
recommend Terie as an employee of your organization.

I am confident Terie will continue to excel in nursing practice. She is well organized and detail
oriented. Terie mastered the taught skills quickly and was able to demonstrate advanced critical
thinking during testing. She is personable and works well with others.

Teries military service is evident in her presentation: she is professional, timely, and neat in
appearance. Terie exhibits a calm demeanor during stressful situations. I believe her greatest
asset to be her unwavering advocacy for her patients. She truly puts her patients first.

It is for these reasons that I give Terie Shelton my highest recommendation. She will be an asset
to your organization. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding this
recommendation.

Sincerely,

Selena Truban, MSN, RN
