Includes processes and activities needed to identify, define,
combine, unify and coordinate various processes within the
Project Management Process groups

Purpose
Project integration characteristics (define, integrate, articulate) are
crucial for project completion, meeting requirements and
managing stakeholders needs all at the same time.

Make choices about where to concentrate resources and effort on


any given day, anticipating potential issues, dealing with these
issues before they become critical.

Includes all activities under each process groups.

For example, the planning process groups provides execution


process group with documented project management plan earlier
on in the project and then facilitates updates to the plan if changes
occur.

For example, the sub-sequent phases of a project, is authorized by the initial


development of a project charter. This charter informs a Project plan which in
turn is used to manage the execution, monitoring and closing of a project.

Project integration.

Most experienced project management practitioners know


there is no single way to manage a project.

They apply project management knowledge, skills, and


processes in different orders and degrees of rigor to
achieve the desired project performance.

Summary
Project Integration Management Includes processes and activities needed to
identify, define, combine, unify and coordinate various processes within the Project
Management Process groups

is crucial for project completion, meeting requirements and managing stakeholders


needs all at the same time.

Project Charter Is the process of developing a document that formally authorizes a


project or a phase and documenting initial requirements that satisfy the
stakeholders needs and expectations

Project charter has a set of inputs (documenting the viability of the project
throughout and after its investment);
It also requires tools and techniques (via expert judgment) that is used to make final
approval from a set of inputs which is then used to create a project charter.
