"Study the relationship between input and output of Linear Variable

Differential Transducer (LVDT)"

Objectives:
1. To gain experience and practice working with electrical devices
that are used to evaluate mechanical devices
2. To calibrate the LVDT by using static displacement measurement
techniques

Apparatus: Linear Variable Differential Transformer

Theoretical Background:

Linear Variable Differential Transducer (LVDT):

A way of measuring linear displacement is by the use of a linear variable
differential transformer. The linear variable differential transformer is a position-sensing
device that provides an AC output voltage proportional to the displacement of its core
passing through its windings. LVDT provide linear output for small displacements where
the core remains within the primary coils. The exact distance is a function of the
geometry of the LVDT.

Conclusion:
We conclude from the graph that, displacement and voltage are linear relationship. So
when we increase or decrease the displacement values, corresponding values of voltages
also changes.
