2.1 Application Processor

The Application Processor (AP) manages guest room status and stores call information on each guest station.
The AP also provides interface ports for a Property Management System (PMS), Station Message Detail Re-
cording (SMDR) and a Hotel/Motel Printer.

2.2 Hotel/Motel Attendant Console

The SN610 ATTCON is programmed as a Hotel/Motel Attendant Console. The Hotel/Motel Attendant Console
can access Room Cutoff (individual and group), Automatic Wake up, Message Waiting, or Do Not Disturb (in-
dividual and group) with the function keys; in addition to the Attendant features and functions.

2.3 Hotel/Motel Front Desk Instrument

The Multiline Terminal can be programmed to function as a Hotel/Motel Front Desk Instrument. This allows
setting and canceling of the following H/M features:

Do Not Disturb
Room Cutoff
Message Waiting
Check In/Check Out
Automatic Wake up
Room Status
Do Not Disturb Override

2.4 Property Management System (PMS)

The PBX provides a data interface to a locally provided Property Management System (PMS). Communication
between the PBX and the PMS provides computer keyboard control of Hotel/Motel Service Features. For details
of the PMS, refer to the PMS System Manual.

2.5 Station Message Detail Recording (SMDR)

The Station Message Detail Recording (SMDR) sends out the outgoing/incoming C.O. call information to an
external SMDR terminal (Personal Computer/Host Computer). The SMDR is usually used in conjunction with
the PMS.

For details of the SMDR, refer to the SMDR System Manual.

2.6 Hotel/Motel Printer

The various system messages and the guest room status can be obtained through a locally provided Hotel/Motel
Printer. The following information is automatically printed out as a system message:

Wake up attempts whether successful or not.

Remaining messages for the station that is set to Checkout.
Codes and quantities of the goods requested from a guest room by Direct Data Entry.

If the Printout function key is provided at the Front Desk Instrument, the status of the following features are
printed out when the feature is set or reset and Room Status print out is activated:

Do Not Disturb
Room Cutoff
Message Waiting
Automatic Wake up
Room Status individual guest station/all guest stations
Check-In/Checkout

CHAPTER 3 INSTALLATION

1. GENERAL

This chapter explains the work procedure for installing the Hotel System of the PBX. For the connection of
SMDR/PMS terminal, reference should be made to the appropriate manuals of the terminal.

2. PRECAUTION IN HANDLING

The installer must wear a grounded wrist strap so as to protect circuit cards from static electricity. Also, when
handling cards, the installer should use a grounded conductive work surface.

SYSTEM DATA PROGRAMMING

CHAPTER 4 SYSTEM DATA PROGRAMMING

1. GENERAL

This chapter explains the procedure for system data programming, necessary for setting various functions of the
Hotel System. For the outline of the function, the operating procedure and service conditions of each service
feature, refer to the Features and Specifications. For command details, refer to the Command Manual.

2. INFORMATION OF SYSTEM DATA PROGRAMMING

2.1 Initialization

When programming the system data pertaining to the Hotel System, it is first necessary to initialize the AP using
CMD101. As a result of this initial processing, the initial data is set as the system data. This processing is man-
datory for deleting the initial data unnecessary for the Hotel System. After this processing has been completed,
start programming the necessary data.

2.2 Preparation for Programming

Before programming the system data pertaining to the Hotel System, confirm that the system is under the fol-
lowing status.

The system is in On-Line mode. (RUN lamp is flashing on the MP card.)

The PN-AP00-A card is mounted in the correct location.
SW1-4 on the PN-AP00-A card is set to the ON (Write Enable) position.
All the system data pertaining to the station, trunks, and service features are already programmed.

2.3 Station Number Data Loading

When station numbers are added, deleted or changed by CM10, station number data must be reloaded to the AP,
using the following procedure:

(1) Set SW1 on the PN-AP00-A card to ON.

(2) Toggle the Make Busy switch on the PN-AP00-A card UP and then DOWN.

ND-45742 (E) CHAPTER 4

Page 35
Revision 1.0
SYSTEM DATA PROGRAMMING

3. PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE

Initialize the AP using the procedure described in section 3.1, and perform system data feature programming in
accordance with Feature Programming.

After all system data are assigned, set the SW1 switch of PN-AP00-A as shown below to protect the data.

In the programming procedures described, the following symbolic conventions are used:

(1) : 1st Data

(2) : 2nd Data

: Initial Data
With the system data clear commands (CM00, CM01), the data with this marking is automat-
ically assigned for each command.

INITIAL : System Initialization

After entering the data, a system reset is required (Depress SW1 on the MP card).

AP INITIAL : AP Initialization
After entering the data, an AP reset is required. (Toggle the Make Busy switch on the AP card
UP and then DOWN.)

3.2 Feature Programming

The description of each service feature consists of the following items:

PROGRAMMING
This section provides the procedures for programming the service feature. If the service feature is functioning
in conjunction with other features, refer to the sections containing the information pertaining to those fea-
tures.

HARDWARE REQUIRED
In this section, any hardware required for the feature (such as an interface card or external drive) is listed,
with the exception of the following:

(a) Single-line telephone set and interface card (PN-4LC)

(b) Central Office Trunk card (PN-4COT)
