Call To Worship
Minister: We gather here in your presence, God.
People: In our need, and bringing with us the needs of
the world.
Minister: We come to you, for you come to us in Jesus,
People: And you know by experience what human life
is like.
Minister: We come with our faith and with our doubts;
People: We come with our hopes and with our fears.
Minister: We come as we are, because you invite us to
come,
People: And you have promised never to turn us away.
Leader: I place these letters, symbols spelling hope. May
the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in
believing.

(The letters of H.O.P.E. are placed on the altar)

People: Through the power of the Holy Spirit may we
abound in hope.

Prayer of Sacrifice
Minister: During the season of Lent, we look at the cost of our
redemption.
People: Through the sacrifice of Christ we are reconciled
with God.
Minister: We acknowledge that our money, our bodies, and our
time belong to God.
People: Through the sacrifice of Christ we are reconciled
with God.
Minister: We relinquish our desire to cover up our own
unrighteousness
People: Through the sacrifice of Christ we are reconciled
with God.
Minister: We humbly and joyfully claim Gods promise of eternal
life.
People: Through the sacrifice of Christ we are reconciled
with God.

All: Merciful God, we thank you for your supreme

sacrifice, and for welcoming us into the fellowship of
believers. We bow in gratitude, awed by the
magnitude or your love and grace. Teach us to give
back to you all that we are and all that we have, that
we may praise you with our whole lives, and that we
may become living sacrifices to you, through Jesus
Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer
Minister: God our creator, we are held in your everlasting
arms.
Jesus, our Saviour, we are healed by your
wounded hands.
Holy Spirit, be present as we reach out to one
another in love.
People: Living God, breathe your Spirit upon us and
surround us with your love. Giving Jesus,
grant us your compassion. Healing Spirit,
come and bring us peace.
All: Watch now, dear Lord, with those who wake
or watch or weep tonight, and give your
angels charge over those who sleep. Tend your
sick ones, O Lord Christ, rest your weary
ones, bless your dying ones, soothe your
suffering ones, pity your afflicted ones, shield
your joyous ones, and all for your loves sake.
The Lords Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us,
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us
from evil;
For thine is the kingdom and the power and
the glory, For ever and ever.
AMEN

* Hymn 378 Spirit of God, Descend upon My Heart

Blessing before returning to our Daily Living

Minster: Now may God who brought us into the joyous
light of this new day bring us to the guiding light
of eternity.
People: God above us, God beneath us,
God behind us, God before us,
God in quietness, God in danger,
God in heart of friend and stranger. Amen.

Choral Amen VU 423 God be with you
