7th Grade Math Syllabus

2016-2017
Welcome to 7th grade math! Our mission is to facilitate our students in achieving at their highest
level while treating them with fairness and respect in helping them gain the most from their
education. We will make them more capable and independent learners. We look forward to
working with your student throughout the school year.

Course Description: The purpose of seventh grade mathematics is to deepen and extend understanding of
linear relationships. The Standards for Mathematical Practice, along with the content standards,
recommend students experience mathematics as a coherent, useful, and logical subject that applies their
ability to make sense of problem situations. In keeping with our school-wide focus on literacy, students
will engage in regular reading and writing in the math class.
