1) To what extent is the saying a healthy body means a healthy


mind as true as it seems? Discuss from your experience,
observation or readings.
2) Which of the two nature or nurture has a greater role in honing
the skills and developing ingenuity in growing children? Discuss.
3) Both the working father and working mother have neither time nor
interest to look after the old man or the old woman at home. And
it is foolish to waste their earning-time in the care of useless and
dying old generation. So the best idea is, your grand father or your
grand mother should be taken care by the government or private
Old Age Homes. How far do you agree or disagree with this idea?
Discuss.
4) Is the development of a country dependent on the political system
of that country or the policies and plans taken by its government?
Discuss. Support your stand by giving examples and illustrations.
5) Do you think Federalism will secure the right of the minority groups
and down trodden classes or it will increase the political turmoil?
Give examples to support your position.

6) Is educational potentiality of the Internet greater than its danger it


may cause to younger generation? Discuss.
7) Which type of industries (large scale, medium scale, cottage) do
you think should be given more preference in your country? Why?
Discuss.
8) Science studies what is natural and that is all we ask of it. If
something goes beyond the natural, science has no authority to
claim anything. Since God is beyond natural phenomena science
has neither access nor authority to make any claim. How far do
you agree the above assertion? Justify your position.
9) If you were the PM of your country would you focus your attention
toward developing the Service Industries or the Manufacturing
Industries? Why? Give reasons.
10) Student A: History should be made compulsory subject in the high
school education because history teaches us the grandeur of our
past and gives us new stamina to advance in the present. Without
history we are all monkeys without a tail.
Student B: No, the idea is silly. I think history is just a taleteller. It is
a fabricated story of the winner; a manipulation of the facts and
figures. You can never hear what the losers have to say. So other
more useful subjects should replace it. Who of the two disputants
do you agree with? Why? Support your argument examples or
illustrations.

Section C

11) Which of the two atomic or renewable energy do you think that
your country should focus on? Why?
12) Money allows us to buy the goods and services for our own and
our family comfort. So money actually gives us more and lasting
happiness than higher education. So we should opt for earning
more money than getting higher education. How far do you agree
or disagree with the idea? Discuss.
13) How do you utilize your leisure time at home? What are your
suggestions to people of your age about utilizing time during
holidays/vacations and festivals?
14) Migration to cities or even to foreign countries gives better
opportunities for earning and learning. So our (Nepali) government
should encourage students and workers to migrate. Do you agree
the claim? Give reasons and examples to support your position.
15) We should read more science fictions than the classical and literary
fictions because the first spark the flames of ingenuity and fuel our
creativity whereas the second drench us in dull imagination and
invite us to opt for impossible. How far do you agree or disagree
with the claim in the above passage? Discuss.
