Progress on ISM Goals

Towards the beginning of this semester we made a couple SMART Goals to accomplish
before the end of this year in ISM. As time has gone and the school year is soon ending,
some of these goals have been worked on or completed. To begin with I had three goals
for ISM. They included securing a mentor, getting my product down, and acing final
presentation night.

To begin with, my first goal was to completely secure a mentor. I was speaking with
someone but it was not completely official just yet and I was hoping to make sure that it
becomes official. With the completion of this goal I would be able to move on to my next
goal. I achieved this goal when I landed Mr. Mike Dusold from Dusold Designs. He was
nervous at first and didnt know for sure if he could do it but with some deeper insight
and more of an explanation of what ISM is, he agreed to be my mentor. With the
securing of a mentor I was able to start doing many more things and accomplishing
more in the course due to having a mentor.

My next goal was my product for this year. I started with hoping to create a battery thing
that most of you all now. But with the positive feedback i went for what you all
suggested which is a mock design and possibly 3d design of a prototype vehicle that I
create. I felt this to be very cool so I changed this to my project. Once I got a mentor this
changed once again and is now modifications to a real car which will be my 2007 Ford
Mustang GT. I changed when I found out about how my mentor races his car and
makes changes to improve his track racing ability. A major part of automotive and
mechanical engineering is involved with racing due to much of racing being trickled
down to normal everyday road cars. Thus I changed my Original Work to creating a
daily driver that is race ready. My goal is to finish this by final presentation night which is
when I will have to present this. Which leads me to my next final goal that I had.

Another goal is to excel at the Final presentation night during May seventeenth 2017. I
want to do this in order to show myself and others how I have improved over the school
year while also showing of what I have learned. I can measure my process to this
through the activities we will be doing that will lead up to this big day. This is something I
have not yet accomplished but will accomplish soon. This will be the end result of all
that I have done thus my final goal to accomplish in ISM this year. This will give me a
sense of confidence in completing one of the hardest courses one can take in high
school.
