Case Number: 010004 Date: 08/10/2015

On August 8, 2015 at 1900 hrs, I was dispatched to South Parker Rd. Apartment 102 in reference to a neighbor
calling to report a disturbance between the occupants. I arrived, parked near the lobby, and looked for the
apartment.

After I find the apartment, upon exiting my vehicle I hear a mans voice shout Shut up. I knock at the door
and announce Im a police officer. A man (Allen Jay) opens the door lets me in. I see a women (Crystal Jay)
sitting on the sofa, staring at the floor with two small children. Mr. Jay is very apologetic and says nothing is
wrong. I ask if Mrs. Jay and her children were okay. She nods yes while her children cling to her. I notice a
bruise on her right cheek. Mr. Jay repeats that nothing is wrong in an aggressive tone and orders me to leave.
He says Im trespassing and he will call an attorney. I call for back up. Eight minutes later OFFC Pope arrives.
She takes Mrs. Jay and the two children in the bedroom for questioning. I asked Mr. Jay what happened. He
proceeds to tell me that they had a little disagreement about money. He tells me she made several mistakes
regarding recording checks, and three checks bounced. He then says I may have lost my cool. OFFC Pope
returns from the bedroom with Mrs. Jay. OFFC Pope tells me that Crystal was pushed against the wall and
punched on her right cheek in front of her children.

I arrest Allen Jay and read him his Miranda rights. OFFC Pope gives Mrs. Ray a victim booklet and a case
number. I and OFFC Pope Place Allen Jay in my vehicle and drive to Mecklenburg Police Department.
