Spanish 4 NGO Project

As part of this course you will be complete more in-depth study of Spanish culture(s). This
project is designed to allow you to narrate, discuss, and support the complex idea and concept of
a Nongovernmental Organization using detailed facts and ideas while simultaneously keeping in
mind finer points of grammar.

Assignment Details:

You have been hired to assist a company decide how to best make a charitable donation.
Specifically, your job is to evaluate the purpose and effectiveness of two different ONGs in the
developing Spanish speaking country of your choice. After completing the necessary research
you will present your findings to the company board members and the CEO.

You will also synthesize your findings into a one page letter explaining to the loosing NGO the
reasons for your choice, suggestions for what/how they can change to earn your support in the
future, and any other relevant information.

In your presentation be sure to include the following information:

_____ Details on Developing Country

- Location, population, statistics, what you think is the reason they have not developed
sooner, etc.

_____ Details on both ONGs that you choose

- Purpose, goals, location, focus, costs, etc.

_____ Comparison of the two ONGs

_____ A well educated, rational argument for choosing one to support

_____ Your thoughts on how this ONG will impact the future of the community

In your presentation and letter be sure to include the following grammatical concepts:

_____ Future Tense

_____ Conditional Tense

_____ Imperfect Subjunctive Tense

_____ Perfect tenses

_____ Relative Pronouns

Reminders:

Your presentation will be graded using the oral-presentation rubric we have used in the
past.
Your report will be graded using the writing rubric.
Remember that you are presenting to a company and CEO so conduct yourself
professionally (no sweatpants on presentation day, no flashing neon powerpoints, etc.)
