METHOD STATEMENT FOR Excavation
Safety Arrangements:
Underground utilities like sewers, water pipe lines, electric cables, etc. shall be
located and
Adequate precautions shall be taken
The excavation trenches shall be properly shored/timbered if necessary and
excavated material shall be placed 1 m from the edge of the trench
Heavy equipments such as cranes, dumpers shall not work near the edge of
excavation area and be away by at least 6 meters.
Excavated areas shall be barricaded properly.
Aluminum Ladder shall be used for access and aggress.
All workers and staff shall be provided with appropriate PPE.
Toolbox talk will be conducted to labors and staff.
Work permit shall be obtained before taken up work.
Proper adequate lighting will be provided during working at nights.

use.

METHOD STATEMENT FOR PCC WORKS
Safety Arrangements:
Description of works:
1. Ensure that the Ant termite treatment carried out for the area where PCC will be
carried out.
2. Lay out shall be carried out with the help of total station and mark on the pits
where PCC Shall be carried out. Ensure that the instrument shall be calibrated as
per standard.
3. Provide shuttering for sides for PCC works.
4. Mark Levels by using leveling instrument either with the nails on sides of form
work or put level pads on ground. Ensure that the Instrument shall be calibrated
as per standard.
5. Ensure the raw materials available in sufficient quantity to complete the pour.
6. The concrete shall be produced after obtaining the Pour card approved by the
Clients representative.
7. Transport the concrete produced by the RMC plant by suitable transport like
dumper, concrete pump or other means.
8. The concrete dispatched from the RMC Mixer shall be consumed with in the
prescribed time limit and not to withhold the concrete for long time.
9. Ensure that no extra water added in the concrete which affects the quality of the
concrete.
10.The concrete shall be unloaded into the chute or others.
11.Pour the concrete in the correct location and in sequence to avoid the double
handling and save the time and thus increase the productivity.
12.Compact the concrete to the required level and proper surface finish shall be
done.
13.Clean out all loose concrete and keep the concreted area neat and clean.
14.Remove the sides of PCC and the stripping time will be as per specifications.
15.Curing shall be carried out as per the methodology of curing.

Walkways shall be provided for movement of workers and staff to avoid trap in

Design the concrete mix and take trials.
Test for the acceptance criteria as per requirements.
Estimate the quantity of pour to be taken and requirement shall be submitted
to clients for approval.
The area of concreting shall be properly cleaned with loose materials before
pouring and check for the rigidity of supports.
Arrangement shall be made before arrival of concrete like concrete lifting and
placing equipments, labor, mason, chute etc.
After receiving concrete at site, check the batch sheet whether the concrete
brought as per the requirement.
Check for concrete for quality with respect to temperature, workability.

commencement.
5. All night works if required are done with proper lighting and Engineer / Supervisor
& Electrician present till job completion.
6. Overloading of floors / passage / walkways with materials like cement, str. steel,
Blocks, sintex water tanks etc. is prevented.
7. Work area is protected / restricted for man movement while heavy erection,
scaffolding, shuttering, or material movement.
8. Diesel / Petrol Drums, cans, chemicals, paint materials, etc. are well protected,
covered and only authorized persons are allowed for its use / handling.
9. All service cut outs, open tanks, deep gutters, etc. are covered firmly with suitable
framework / Jali followed by old plates, plywood (without any gaps / holes) etc. so
as to work above and below it.
11.Cables / floodlights erected on wooden poles & tied with katha (no binding wire to

14.Electrical D.B.'s & cables are protected from water / material movement.

22.First Aid box (cotton bandage, potassium permanganate, tincture iodine, dettol,
knife, blade, scissors & general medicine) with all requirements is in stores and
stock of material in it is checked every week by store keeper.
25.Site & Labour camp is clean and well maintained. Proper water connections,
sanitations facilities & drainage are provided.
27.All measures to protect Clients / Customer's property machines etc. are taken.
28.Necessary steps to be taken after notice of accidents and responsibility are fixed
by S.I.C.

Labour camp areas.

wooden junction box.
4. For all junction boards from which the cutter m/c, welding m/cs & all other m/cs to
be working are properly earthed with G.S. / cu wire.
5. The proper rating of ELCB / MCB is provided before giving the supply to any of the
function board / distribution board.
6. All main switches, busbars & other switch boards are properly earthed which is
fixed on distribution boards.

7. The Armored cables used for distribution network are earthed with their armour of
cable.
8. No. dumping of materials on camles which laid into underground for distribution
network.
9. The flexible cables / armored cables which are laid on the road side are through
proper protective pipes etc. & should be deeper as compared to other side lying.
10.All focus lighting for temporary work should be proper jointing or through pin top
on junction boards.
11.5A / 15A pin tops are used for all electrical m/cs like drilling, cutting, etc. with
proper earth wire.
12.Big. Polish m/c & tile cutting m/c should operate with proper earthling.
13.All main switches, ELCB / MCB'S & cables to be checked before using for
temporary work.
14.Proper specifications, makes, switches / ELCB's, Busbars & cables are to be used.
15.Proper size of cables are used for halogens of higher capacity & m/cs used for
cutting, welding, etc. & for mixer, lifts, pumps, etc.
16.Cable markers are used for locating the cables for maintenance.
17.Proper sizes Dor / Star-delta starters are used for mixer, lifts, pumps, etc.
18.All drilling, cutting, polishing & mixing machines & their mortars shall be checking
before connections for any shocks / leakage currents etc.
19.Open connections for any works should be avoided & it should be properly with
sockets / pins tops, switch, etc.
20.Temporary D.G. sets are maintained properly by checking, water level in battery
connections & other fuel level, oil level, etc.

3. Material dedicated till job completion and no removal of any part of scaffolding
before total dismantling.
4. Base plates supported / rested on firm and leveled ground / timber & to prevent
sinking & slipping. (Don't use packing / supports like brick, wooden pipes, etc. to
base plate).
5. All scaffolding supported / suspended, sufficiently & properly braced, and rigidly
connected with building part which is strong enough. (Cross & Angular
supports @ every floor).
6. Planks / Platform are of good quality, of sufficient thickness (min. 50 mm for 8'
length) & width (min. 700 mm wide for workmen without any material).
7. Planks / Platform are firmly tied on both ends and are in level on both ends & not
projecting beyond end supports.
8. Gap between two planks not exceeds 25 mm & precautions to safeguard while
walking below scaffolding.
10.Gangway / ramp / area used for man movement shall be plated, planked, covered
(min. 2 m wide).

17.Precautions during setting up & dismantling of scaffolds, (warning signs, safety
cartons,) to ensure safety for the traffic.
18.Protection of scaffolding against accidental collisions with traffic. (keep min. 1.0 m
clear distance) & ht. 2.5 m for Pedestrians.
19.Access to fire alarms, & escape stairs, cable tunnels, hydrants etc. shall remain
free at all times.
20.Catching scaffold or Net (of min. 1.3 mtr. wide) shall be provided.
