Part of becoming a student is the the activity which is the role playing still with
connection and relationship he makes with
the people that surrounds him and most
importantly from the above. CREVES is one
of the annual regular school activities
intended primarily for the graduating
students of CVCITC. This is a part of the
character and spiritual reformation of the
students. The idea is to bring about a
spiritual experience in the hope that such an
involvement will encourage and develop
positive values and behaviors among the
students relevant towards the professional
environment.
This years CREVES was conducted
at Taguinods Farm, Malini, Santiago City.
The venue was with a great peaceful
atmosphere inside amidst the hustle and
bustle outside, perfectly aligned for the said
activity. Brother Veer, the long-time retreat
master of the school once again leads the
values reformation.
The whole graduating class was
divided into two batches, each batch having
the two day overnight experience of the
activity.
Having the first batch, the first
activity was knowing ones self where in
students are grouped into five and are
asked to rate their selves from one (being
the lowest) to ten (being the highest) some
of the listed values if they are applying it into
their everyday lives. Right after that,
students shared it with their respective
groups and later on shared it, together with
some points of realization with the whole
assemblies through their group leaders.
After the sharing, Brother Veer did some
talk about the CVCITCian core values and
have the pray over as the end part of the
activity.
On the second day, early in the
morning before we started our second
activity, Brother Veer lets us do some ice
breakers then right after we proceeded with
the five respective groupings. Each group
was designated with one core values which
must be portrayed to their presentation.
Every presentation was heart whelming in
the sense that most have exposed a true to
life stories that some cried during their
portrayal and entertaining as well because
some presented in a funny way. Anyhow
thats what reality goes like. After that, each
group leader was asked to impart their
learning towards the role play.
The third activity was the individual
sharing about what students have learned
during the values reformation. In this part,
everyone shared their stories, their leanings
and realizations. This is also the part where
everyone emotionally took the opportunity to
reconcile with the persons theyve hurt and
to ask forgiveness, to give thanks and
appreciations to everybody.
The final activity was the blindfold.
Everyone sits in a circle with their blindfolds
on. Afterwards, Brother Veer and retreat
facilitators hand their words to the students.
This makes everyone bursts into their tears.
After the heart to heart talks, everyone had
the time to bond with one another before
going home.
CVCITC focus on providing not only
the best education but also the best training
and the best formation to their pupils. We,
students are privileged to experience this
one of a kind school activity. We are
thankful that our school provides this kind of
curriculum that would be able to face the
challenges and realities of life by having
strong and right character and widened the
range of our interactions with others.
Having the time to pause and stop
even for a while allows us rest of mind and
body. CREVES even allow our soul a rest
from worries that engulf us. It is a time to
listen in silence for a change.
