Thai Reflection

In quarter 3, I learned about Thai literature in the unique style

by working as a group in a big project. Every class, the teacher
will assign different roles for us to work on. These roles are
presentation group, government group, opponent group and
examination group. All of us will have a chance to show our ability
and develop different skills through working in different roles.

The presentation groups role is to present the literature in front

of the class. Each group will receive different titles of the
literature. My groups literature name is A Man Heart (
). We can choose different styles to present. My group
chooses to do a drama in front of the class to present the story.
We practiced a lot for this drama and get impressed by the
audience. We try to insert the emotion of the character while we
performing this drama to make the audience understand the
feeling of each character. We also make a board containing the
detail of the literature, including the writer of the literature, main
idea of the story and also what we have learned from this
literature. In the end, everyone impressed with our presentation.
After the presentation, another group will ask a question about
the literature that weve presented to test our understanding of
the story. From this role, I learned about the many Thai literatures.
Not only the one that I presented, but also from my classmates
presentation. I also practiced my drama skill and learn to become
brave and believe in myself. The most important of all is
teamwork skill, we have learned to corporate with each other and
to make our goal becomes successful. We cant finish our work if
we dont help each other and listen to different opinion.

Next is the government group. We learned about the basic

structure of the debate. The debate includes the government
group and the opponent group. In the debate, the goal is to argue
with the opposite team and make the other believe that our
opinion is correct. We have to support our opinion by finding the
firm evidence, example, or try to make the opposite team wrong.
In this role, Im the audience of the debate and I listen to different
point of view from my friends that involved in this debate. I
learned to listen to different points of view and try to analyze the
information while listening to the debate.

I involved in the opponent group. At that time, the topic of the

debate is about its better for the parent to give freedom to their
children than the parent that create a boundary for their children.
Im the opposition group so I have to argue my friend that parent
who creates a boundary for their children is better. Ive to search
for the information that could support my point and find different
reason to say that my opinion is correct. When the debate time
has come, I was really excited. The debate involved of six people,
three from the government group and three from the opponent
group. Im the third speaker of the opponent team. Ive to listen
to the government team sharing their opinion first and then I
have to raise my hand to argue their opinion while they are
speaking. After the speaker of the government group finished
talking, I have to sharing my opinion within three minutes and
thirty seconds and the speaker of the government group will also
argue my opinion. I have to sharing my opinion while trying to
argue with the opposite team at the same time. At first I dont
think that I can do this, but it turns out that I can do it pretty well.
Im proud of myself in the end. From this role, I learned how to
search and analyze the information to support my point, finding
the evidence and think of different reason to support my opinion,
and also have good aptitude.

The last role is the examination group. Ive to create an exam

for the other group to test their understanding according to their
presentation topic. Ive learned about the main idea and detail of
some Thai literature including the main idea of the story, the
writer and many more.
From the whole activity in this quarter, I learned lots of thing
from it. I learned about different Thai literatures and the detail
such as the writer of each story, the main idea of the story and
many more. Also, I learned to work as teamwork with my
teammate and try to help each other. The most important of all is
to believe in myself and do my best. According to the schools
ESLOs, this activity teaches me to become an innovative thinker
because I have to be creative and original while doing the
presentation. It also teaches me to become articulate
communicators because I have to tell what I understand to
different social groups. Not only that, I also learn to become a
leader for the future because I have to build teamwork and
leadership to achieve common goal.
