Teologa de la prosperidad
La teologa de prosperidad, a veces llamada evangelio
de la prosperidad, es una creencia religiosa compartida
por algunos cristianos, quienes sostienen que la bendicin
nanciera y el bieniestar fsico son siempre la voluntad de
Dios para con ellos, y que la fe, el discurso positivo y las
donaciones a causas religiosas aumentarn la riqueza ma-
terial propia. Est basada en interpretaciones de la Biblia
que son tradicin del judasmo (con respecto a la Biblia
hebrea), aunque en menor medida en el cristianismo. La
teologa de prosperidad ve la Biblia como un pacto entre
Dios y el hombre: si los humanos tienen fe en Dios, el
brindar seguridad y prosperidad.
La doctrina enfatiza la importancia del empoderamiento
personal y propone que es la voluntad de Dios para su
pueblo que sea feliz. La expiacin (reconciliacin con
Dios) se interpreta para incluir el alivio de la enferme-
dad y la pobreza, los cuales se consideran maldiciones
que se pueden romper por la fe. Se cree que esto se con-
sigue a travs de donaciones monetarias, visualizacin y
confesin positiva.
En el Healing Revivals de la dcada de 1950 la teolo-
ga de la prosperidad alcanz prominencia en los Esta-
dos Unidos, aunque algunos han asociado los orgenes de
su teologa al movimiento New Thought, que empez en
el siglo XIX. Las enseanzas de prosperidad ms tarde
ocuparon un lugar prominente en el movimiento Word
of Faith y el telenvagelismo de los aos 1980. En las d-
cadas de 1990 y 2000, inuentes lderes del movimiento
pentecostal y el movimiento carismtico la adoptaron en
los Estados Unidos y se ha propagado por todo el mundo.
Algunas guras prominentes en su desarrollo son E. W.
Kenyon, Oral Roberts, A. A. Allen, Robert Tilton, T. L.
Osborn, Joel Osteen, Creo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland,
Mike Murdock, Reverendo Ike y Kenneth Hagin.
Lderes de varias denominaciones cristianas la han criti-
cado, incluido desde los movimientos pentecostal y ca-
rismtico, quines mantienen que es irresponsable, pro-
mueve la idolatra y es contraria a la Escritura.
