Simmons College to Start a New Core Curriculum

BOSTON- Simmons College is implementing a new curriculum starting in the

Fall called Simmons PLAN (Purpose Leadership ActioN). This will only be

affecting the incoming first year students.

Simmons faculty decided that a change was needed to the curriculum

that had been used for more than 50 years. This new curriculum highlights

Simmons strengths. Simmons PLAN was also created to build recognition,

enhance and protect reputation, as well as, to help increase revenue. All first

years will be taught by full time professors, making students feel more

connected to the Simmons community. Students have a choice of 26 different

Boston classes and will go on trips into the city to get more acquainted with

their new home.

Not only does the new core curriculum incorporate a huge leadership

aspect, but it also gives the students the ability of creating their own path

and experience. This results in an education that not only fulfills all of

Simmons expectations, but also holds the students interest.

Simmons College was established in 1899. It is a private women's

undergraduate college and private co-educational graduate school in Boston,

Massachusetts.
