We were saddened by the death on March 15, 1979, of
Peter Laqueur, the outstanding psychiatrist and family therapist in Berlin, Vermont. Peter was a cherished member of the IJFT editorial board and will be sorely missed. He w i l l long be remembered for his work as the foremost expositor of multiple family therapy, and for his personal characteristics which brought warmth to those who knew him and admiration from those who knew about him.
AN EXPRESSION OF THANKS
The response to Volume 1 of the journal was most gratifying.
We are grateful to two guest editors for reviewing manuscripts at the special request of the editor--they are Dr. Carl Whitaker of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and Dr. M. Duncan Stanton of the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. Generous announcements of the journal have appeared in two other journals, and we would like to take the opportunity to thank the editors, Dr. Alfredo Canevaro of Terapia Familiar (Argentina), and Mr. David Kvebaek of Fokus pa Familien (Norway). Both are corresponding editors of IJFT, and very active in building interest in family therapy in their respective countries. GHZ AFB
