This article is about how medical marijuana helps children to be able to

function normal lives, while having sicknesses like epilepsy and cancer. The
high levels of cannabidiol is the chemical that helps reduce the seizures. It
talks about how not all medical marijuana advocated are quick to explain
that not all cannabis products are the same.

I think that this article can be useful because it talks about the medical
benefits of cannabis and gives reasons on why it can be used to help and
treat people with epilepsy, even children. Since seizures tend to essentially
be life threatening, cannabis is used in all different forms.

This was a form of Logos because it is an informative article about the

benefits of cannabis. It is more often that people get the down sides of
cannabis instead of the benefits. It has benefited a lot of different sick people
in their lives and helped them to live a better and more functional life.

In this article, it talks about all the people who are in prison, and if it is for a
reasonable purpose or if its just because of drugs. A lot of people are in jail
for the use of marijuana. People pay tons of taxes while there are people that
are just in jail for that. A lot of people dont think that it is worth paying all
that money just for someone to sit in jail for using marijuana.
Westlind 2

This would be a good article to use for the essay because it gives a lot of
data and resources to the idea that is being supported. I think that it is
beneficial that people are informed about the ones who are in jail just for the
use of marijuana, especially because it is being legalized all over the country,
and already is in 28 different states.

This article uses the rhetoric Ethos because it gives a lot of data and
information on the taxation from the jails being so full. It tells about how they
should let people out of jail to save money, and also how people who dont
necessarily belong in jail should be let out.

This article talks about the threats that were raised by the conservative
political forces that were found with the legalization of marijuana. It also
talks about the growth of the economic system that includes the growth of
goods and services that were exchanged for money. It talks about the
economy and what marijuana would do for it.

I dont think that this article would be a good source for my argument
because it talks about other psychedelics, and my research paper is only on
the legalization. This article also states that the legalization would indeed
mean the end of society as we know it. It is more of a bias written article.

The article represents pathos because it is more of an opinion, especially if it

states that the legalization of psychedelic drugs would be the end of society.
I think that if they were all legalized then that would weed out the drug
addicts, or people willing to do stupid things. Survival of the fittest.

Marijuana would be beneficial to the economy. This article gives reasons of

what it would be useful for and how it would bring up the economy. As of
November 8, 2016, twenty eight different states have legalized marijuana to
some extent or another. The marijuana industry is the fastest growing
industry in the United States.
Westlind 3

This article would be good for my research paper because in the paper it
gives the effects of marijuana, and how it would be beneficial to the
economy and the upbringings that it would have if it was legalized
everywhere.

This would be a good form of Ethos because it would help bring structure to
the essay. It has a lot of good information about the economical parts of the
legalization of marijuana.

This article talks about how marijuana has helped to show less opioid
overdoses in the united states. Marijuana is not as toxic and does not have
the toxic effects of opioids. People get hooked on pain killers and constantly
wants to get them, to make them- selves feel better. The article also talks
about if the people who died of overdose got them legally, or illegally.
Opioids are a bigger cause of death.

This article would be good to use because it gives good information about
how marijuana is better, or not better to use instead of opioids. It gives the
benefits of each thing, and how many overdoses there have been in the
United States, opioids vs. marijuana.

The author uses pathos with the statement I think medical cannabis could
fall into the category of alternatives for treating chronic pain so that people
dont use opioids or use a lower dose of opioids then they otherwise would.
The author says this, and is a form of emotion on how medical marijuana
could be an alternative instead of the use of opioids.

The medical use of cannabis in adolescence is to benefit them with pain and
epilepsy. But there are controversys with the use of cannabis with
adolescence because it has an association with schizophrenia, and it can
affect the neurocognitive development in the brain. It is known that children
who have used cannabis has had drug inflicted behavior later-on in their
lives.
Westlind 4

After reading this article, I feel that it would not be a very helpful source for
my essay. I am trying to use the benefits of the legalization of marijuana, not
the things that could go wrong. The things that it can cause to go wrong with
the adolescence is not something that I would like to put in my paper.

This is a good example of Logos because it gives a lot of information of how

cannabis could be bad for a younger person with an under developed brain.
It is interesting that cannabis can be useful, but also harmful depending on
who the user is.

This article talks about the benefits of marijuana for people who play sports,
and how it reduces the pain and soreness of muscles. It is not a very big
subject that is talked about. They would rather have a less usage of opioids
in sports because there are more deaths due to opioids then cannabis.

I think that this article would be good for my research paper because it is
about how cannabis can help with muscles and their soreness, which is also
a different topic that people are not exactly use to.

This is a form of Logos because they are informing about how marijuana can
be an alternative instead of opioids. It is said in a lot of different articles that
marijuana could help with the opioid epidemic that is going on all throughout
the world.

This article talks about how they say marijuana is not like the other drugs like
cocaine, heroin, and meth. Since 1970 the number of marijuana related
search and seizure opinions issued by the state and lower federal courts has
increased dramatically.

I dont think that this article will be useful for my essay because it does not
give very much information to support my needs. It is more of an experiment
with data then an article about the specific topic that I was looking for.
Westlind 5

This article is full of Logos because it has a lot of supportive data that goes
along with it. It has proof about the search and seizure and how its related to
all kinds of drugs.

This article is about the therapeutic use of marijuana. In this article it talks
about how marijuana is used to help people with anorexia, cachexia, and
cancers. The cannabis interacts with the endocannabinoid system. The
therapeutic effects of cannabis are due to the activation of CB1 by
tetrahydrocannabinol. Cannabis has been known to have a big effect on the
appetite. It talks about how cannabis helps people to eat, and to help with
their pains instead of using painful medications and not being able to eat.

I think that this article is good to use for the essay because it is informative
about the medical uses of medical cannabis, and it has experimental data to
back up what it is trying to say. It is good information on how it can help with
sickness, and how if effects the brain.

This article is a form of Ethos because it gives data and credibility. It will be
good to use in my research essay because it has reliable sources. It shows
ethos when explaining about the good effects of cannabis and how it can
help with sicknesses.

Cannabis is used for a lot of different medical purposes. It has been used to
help with pain of HIV/AIDS and cancer patients. It is also used for other
chronic pains, and helps with things such as a preventative to weigh loss,
decrease in seizures, and used to relieve stress and anxiety. They have also
found that it decreases the amount of nausea and vomiting from
chemotherapy in cancer patients.
Westlind 6

This article would be useful for the point of the medical uses of marijuana in
my essay because it gives different examples of what it could be used for
and the examples of what medical issues it is used for and the benefits it
brings to people.

The article uses a good source of Logos because it would be a good structure
to the medical portion of the essay. It explains the benefits and gives
information on the different kinds of problems people could have, and how
cannabis could help decrease symptoms and pain.
